Hyatt at the Arcade FAILED on many levels

I purchased 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency at the Arcade for my parents who were visiting the Cleveland Clinic for medical reasons.

I called to confirm and requested a quiet room for them and asked to put any incedentals on my charge card.

Because I purchased the room via Priceline I had to fax the hotel a copy of my card with my signature. No problem, I did that.

On the fax, I requested AGAIN, that my parents have a quiet room. I also requested a room with a view of Lake Erie.

The hotel did not charge my card for incidentals as requested.

I confirmed a late check in on the day of my parents arrival and verbally requested a quiet room with a view of Lake Erie. I was told they did not have any rooms available that had a view of Lake Erie, but they would make sure my parents had a quiet room.

Apparently, the room my parents had looked more like something from a low budget chain hotel. The room did not appear to be clean. The furnishings were unremarkable and not the quality they expected.

The hotel was doing some renovation, apparently and my parents had to listent to someone pounding nearly all night long. So much for a quiet room.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all! However, the Rennaissance next door seems to have a good reputation.

A nice hotel!

A very nice hotel. However, parking is a bit expensive at 20.00 per night valet or 15.00 public park. If you book on Expedia or Priceline, parking costs are not given, but a quick call to the hotel will get you all the information you need.

Only problem with Cleveland is that there is NO food within walking distance! We went in late July and downtown Cleveland is deserted on the weekends.

One last note - if you book on priceline, you end up with a room in the back of the hotel. Not the best rooms they have but they were clean.

Overall I would recommend the hotel!

Nice Hotel

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and clean. They opened onto a center courtyard, that was a bit noisy all night. Otherwise, it was a great stay. Don't make calls though. The fees are huge!

Unique with Hyatt Standards

This is a must see. Rooms are all converted from old shops. Many are VERY spacious with high ceilings. Convenient downtown location and secure at night. Food court in basement provides a cheap alternative. Only negative is the parking situation. Valet parking only and it takes at least 10 min to get your car. Staff were helpful & friendly. I would stay there again.

Hyatt Rocks!

From the minute we pulled up, to the time we checked out, the staff at this hotel was first rate. We didn't meet a doorman, desk clerk or parking valet who wasn't smiling, always polite and exceedingly helpfull. The rooms were clean, nicely appointed, good but not great. Outside windows were dirty, but considering construction in the area, that may be unavoidable. The hotel itself is located on the upper floors of the "oldest shopping mall" in the States (at least that's what we were told). Most shops were closed the Saturday we stayed, and many of the small food court restaurants closed by five. The Hyatt's central location is ideal for anyone wishing to go to Jacob's Field, R&R Hall of Fame, Browns Stadium, or Tower City attractions. But it's the service that impressed me the most....would not hesitate to return!

A friend and I stayed at the beautiful Hyatt Regency at the Arcade for only one night, arriving on May 16. The building itself is amazing and credit to Hyatt and the developers on the adaptive re-use with shops and restaurants still on the first two floors. Service is what you'd expect and we didn't have any problems with our car, check-in, or anything really. The location could not be beat and the only thing we wish is that downtown Cleveland had more late-night eating options. NOT a knock on the hotel at all.

Gorgeous Hotel, Friendly Staff, Lovely City

Recently returned from stay at the Hyatt Regency Cleveland. The Hyatt is absolutely gorgeous--occupies a former circa 1890 European-style shopping arcade. Magnificent! Rooms have high-ceilings, elegant furniture, and are boutique-hotel quality. Nice hotel restaurant and polite staff. Loved the understated lobby---the place just coddles you. Cleveland's a lovely city with a well-preserved and restored downtown area, great musuems and ethnic restaurants, friendly people. Highly recommend the Cleveland Museum of Art, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rockefeller Park Cultural Gardens, strolls through Little Italy, and Ohio City--which you can reach via the Rapid Transit rail system. Will make a point to return to the Hyatt when in Cleveland.

Beautiful Hotel

I was unfamiliar with the Cleveland area but wanted to stay at a nice hotel near Jacobs Field. Only by luck (and Priceline) did I end up with a reservation at the Hyatt at the Arcade. What a beautiful hotel. Not only are the rooms very nice and very nice sized, but the renovations were spectacular. Highly, highly recommended.

OK, I'll be honest and say I was dreading spending several days in Cleveland for a business meeting. Turns out it's a pretty cool place and the Hyatt Regency at the Arcade made it even better. It's among the most unusual places I've ever stayed--an old Victorian glass covered Arcade converted to a hotel. The lower two floors still have shops but the upper floors (former offices) have been converted to hotel rooms. We were part of a small group and all our rooms were different. The staff was helpful in recommending things to do and the location is in the heart of Downtown Cleveland--lots of things to do nearby. There were many bars and clubs in the nearby Flats and (fairly hip) Warehouse Districts. The Rock Hall, Jacobs Field, and a Science museum were also within easy walking distance. Lots of historic architecture Downtown too. I even saw a touring Broadway show in beautifully restored theater in Playhouse Square for about half of what it would have cost in NYC.

The food and service at the hotel restaurant was above average. All in all, a pleasant stay and I actually look forward to my next visit to Cleveland--and hope to stay in the Arcade!

It was one of the best hotels I ever stay; I have used about 150 hotels for past year. You really got to see for yourself.

It is located at the center of Cleveland, walking to most of attractions. The hotel itself was the first mall in this country now converted to Hyatt. The self parking deck is right next to the hotel that I paid $15 for overnight. It is easy to access.

I was given a two double bed room at tower side with street view that I saw at midnight, no cars parking on the street. The hallway is great, the elevator access require room key. I was at 5th floor, and can walk down the staircase to 4th floor and walk around the nice "mall".

No high speed Internet in room, but they let me check emails at Lobby. The front desk staff were awefully nice.

The ceiling of my room was very tall, 10 to 12 feet with brand new bed set, furnitures. The bathroom is very nice. I even wonder it should be a 4* than 3* hotel.

There is no swimming pool, but we did not have time to swim anyway, there are so many things to do at Cleveland within walking distance.

We went check out the Great Lake Science Center www.greatscience.com/ where we are member of; it is a wonderful museum within the center of stadium, submarine, Hall of Fame, Steamboat, airport ... with wonderful view to the Erie Lake.

The I-90 is right next to the area and easy to access. I think this is the hotel we will come back again and again.

There is on promise restaurant with live piano at lobby level which is on 1st level (2nd floor if counted from street level). There is also a Domino Pizza at the corner, very convenient. Of course, there are many restaurant. Across street are kids Library and Public Library.

I was so happy that night, I even gave a homeless $25 to help him get by. He was so happy too.

things to do the hyatt regency in right in the middle of town. as part of the arcade it's really beautiful and a must see. there is so much to see and do in cleveland. the rock and roll hall of fame is great. it is a little far to walk to from the hotel but taxi's are easy to get. as far as downtown activities you can walk to anything from the hyatt. it's a great location. cleveland is seldom considered for a vacation destination but it's a mistake not to. the theater district is great, it has great museums and cultural events, it has the lake front and the flats areas, and it's a clean city. felt very safe.

Excellent romantic dinner Majorca is a Spanish restaurant located in the Warehouse District. Easy walk or short taxi ride from the Arcade. Fabulous food and ambience.

West Side Market This enclosed market was one of the most extensive I have seen. The produce was fresh and sometimes priced below current pricing.
