Serious Style in Downtown Cleveland

from Cynergy
There's not a lot more I can add to the previous posts about the stylish makeover given to this Marriott in downtown Cleveland. I had stayed here before the renovation, and was stunned when I checked in last weekend to see the difference the new look makes. Everything's new in the rooms, including the carpet, the furniture and the bathroom fixtures. High style for the price. Kudos to Marriott. They made a good hotel even better!

Great Stay!!!

from pruhop
Only stayed one night during a baseball tour of the Midwest. This is the hotel for traveling ball clubs and the "Please respect the Privacy of all our guests/No autographs" sign in the lobby let us know that we would be seeing some players after the game and we did and my sons were in heaven. We walked both to the Rock n Roll HOF and to Jacobs Field and the kids had no problem. The room was directly in front of the elevator banks and we didn't hear a thing. This Marriott was top of the line.

Beautiful Rooms

from anonymous2
My husband and I just spent the weekend here while visiting The Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, and to just tour the city. I booked this hotel off the inter-net, and after arriving was very pleased. The rooms look just like the picture, and the beds are the most comfortable hotel beds that I have ever slept in. We had a great view of the Brown's stadium and the lake. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There is a fee for parking in the garage, though. I had a package that included this, or if you wish, you can use their valet service. The parking garage had elevators that take you right into the lobby, which was nice. If you go, you might want to bring some evening snacks. My husband was already in his lounge pants and went in search of vending machines on our floor, to find out that you had to go to the gift shop down by the lobby for anything like that. We had breakfast at David's which has a wonderful breakfast buffet with everything imaginable, and cook to order omelets. They were a little expensive, $24 for two breakfast buffets, but this was included in our package. Service was great, too. Location was great, too. It was just a few blocks to the museum. Would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay again.

Wonderful Stay

Stayed at the Marriott on July 1 for just one night as we were in town to see Wicked at the State Theatre. We had asked for early arrival and our room on the 25th floor was ready and perfect. Bed was wonderful with lots and lots of pillows. Bathroom was absolutely spotless and with extra towels. Not one thing to comment negatively on. Dick, the conceirge, was friendly and very helpful as well, suggesting a restaurant for dinner and making the reservations for us. Mallorca, was a great restaurant with impecable service......on 9th street, an easy walk from the Marriott. Dick also helped with directions to the show and church the next morning. The Marriott was beautiful having just finished a total renovation, and was very busy with wedding receptions and many out of town guests, but service was prompt and each employee we encountered met us with a smile. We had a great time!

beautiful hotel, great stay

from lolabarney
My husband and I stayed here for two nights in June, 2006.

the hotel has been completed renovated (last year), new lobby, hallways, and all rooms totally redone - flat screen plasma tvs, high quality bedding (I think it's Frette), granite counters, beds are so comfortable you won't want to get out.

All staff was very nice and helpful.

Excellent location close to everything in the city - walk to Hall of Fame, Jacob's Field, shopping, etc.

Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and nicely presented and a very reasonable price - $12 for the buffet.

My highlight of the visit was running into Adam West (of tv's "Batman" and "Family Guy" fame) in the elevator!

My complaints are re the parking situation - valet will cost you everytime you want to go somewhere (and the inconvenience of having to wait to get your car) - but this is the way it is in any downtown core. There is also a lack of towel bars in the bathroom - we hung ours over the door hinge, and they definitely need some large flower boxes outside of the front of the property - as it is a sea of concrete - small complaints for overrall a beautiful hotel.

I would stay here again without hesitation.

Great location! Fabuolus rooms for the price!

from Flafreckles
Being from Cleveland, I have always stayed with friends and family when visiiting. My husband and I traveled with two other couples this time so we opted for a downtown location that was within walking distance to all the sites. We were in the center of it all. We walked to Jacob's Field. We walked to The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. And if there was a football game, we could have walked there too. The concierge was very helpful. The front desk staff was very nice. We had great service from the gift shop clerk who had bottles of water delivered direct to our room! What great service!

The rooms were recently renovated so the decor and bathroom was very nice. Every night the cleaning crew turned our radio on to the soothing sounds of the ocean.

We had some issues with a slow valet. One night the place was mobbed with very disrespectful wedding guests but the front desk handled the problem with grace. Overall a wonderful weekend in a wonderful service oriented hotel. This hotel hits all the high points!

Very Nice view, room, service, staff, etc...

This hotel lives up to the Marriott name. It's close to everything and certainly worthy of 4-stars. Staff was excellent even with a remodel going on. The new bedding, Plasma TV, granite counter tops and wonderful mattress are major improvements.

Very nice rooms for business traveler

from Woodbury_MNTraveler
I stayed at the Marriott Cleveland Key Center for one night on business. My room was completely remodeled with all new furnishings, including a flat panel LCD/plasma TV and the new Marriott improved bed. The hotel was very quiet and I had a great night's sleep. I ate at the in-house restaurant (David's) and it was a typical Marriott restaurant - good food, but nothing to rave about. I travel for business frequently and this was one of the nicest Marriott room's I've been in. I would definitely recommend the Marriott Key Center for anyone who needs to be in downtown Cleveland

Great time in Cleveland !

from A TripAdvisor Member
Spent just 1 night but we were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The location was very close to the House of Blues where we attended a concert. It's also close to the hippest (currently) part of downtown, the west 6th area. There are many bars and restaurants in this vicinity. The hotel has just undergone a renovation that has created appealing contemporary rooms and cool public spaces. We had a great corner room. The gym is well equipped by hotel standards and I'm sure kids would love the pool. This was one of those rare occasions we actually had a much better experience than we expected. This will be the only place we stay in Cleveland in the future. In our opinion this is a much better choice than the tired and overpriced Ritz.

The Hotel without a Microwave!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
The look and location of the hotel is wonderful. But its quite expensive, which you dont mind, but when they tell you that they dont have a Microwave in the ENTIRE HOTEL...YES..the entire hotel does not have a single micorwave!!!..then you wonder is it worth all the money that you are spending, if they cant meet your basic needs.

Top Local Tips for Cleveland

Find someone who lives or lived in Cleveland... we did, and it was great! Having someone who knew how to get around, and where all the great little dives were was awesome!!

Snow Don't be surprised by 2 inches of snow in the middle of April!

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame A must-see for die-hard rock music fans. Allow yourself at least 8 hours to get through all of it. It was definitely worth the trip to Cleveland from Toronto.
