Top Local Tips for Minot

Rental Cars and cell phones We had problem with the rental car that we drove to Minot and the nearest affiliate rental agency was in Minnisota. It took 11 hour to get a replacement vehicle. There is not cell phone service in the outlying areas so if we had not been with relatives we would have been in real trouble.There are not many rental cars or agencies available in Minot.

Minot Streets Were Icy! The people of Minot love Canadians, however, try not to go during or after a snowstorm as they really do a crappy job of cleaning streets and getting rid of iciness (no salt and very little sand). The people of Minot must be used to it, as they cruise through yellow and red lights without even bothering to try to brake or slow down. There are so many hills, the sanding and/or salting on the streets should be a BIG priority!!

shuttle bus/van Most hotels in Minot do not have shuttles to/from train station or airport. The Grand International has a nice large van that services both locations. This was a benefit for our family of 5 and a dozen bags! Reserve it ahaead of time for your arrival into town. Note: the Amtrak employees stay there and they are picked up first.
