Make sure you have good directions Note to Garner, NC Dept of Highways - GET SOME VISIBLE STREET SIGNS - PUHLEEEZE! No one can read those little faded signs on the corners of the intersections on Route 70. And that sign that says it will take you to Mechanical Blvd - it's a lie. It takes you to a part of town that isn't on the city tour. Make sure you have your hotel phone number programmed in your phone before you get there!

Cracker Barrel If you're looking for some comfort food that's convenient, affordable, and very satisfying, look no further than the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. It's right on I-40 by a lot of major hotels. Stop in for breakfast anytime, or try one of the daily lunch or dinner specials. I got the roast beef dinner, which comes with three sides, and my mom got a breakfast with eggs, grits, and biscuits. Both were picture perfect. They always provide you with breakfast and lunch/dinner menus. Our waitress was wonderful, and fun to chat with. After your meal, wander down memory lane while browsing the store. It's full of toys, candy, knick-knacks, and collectables. Many Cracker Barrel stores feature merchandise from the major universities in the state you're in, so come here if you're a North Carolina or North Carolina State fan in need. This one in Garner has good food too. I felt right at home in this Cracker Barrel.
