Top Local Tips for Charlotte

Charlotte Area We met many friendly people who recommended several wonderful local restaurants. We enjoyed Lola's down-home breakfast, Pike's nostalgic lunch, Mimosa Grill for another lunch, and Boardwalk Billy's for dinner. The women in the visitor center were very welcoming, fun, and full of information. The city has lots of art. We spent hours exploring The Mint Museum of Craft and Design then wandered through several galleries. Our favorite was Tom Snyder's glass mosaics at the Charlotte Art League. If you visit, take a side trip to Lexington to visit the candy store and Lexington Barbeque, which was fabulous but unlike any barbeque you can find in Maine. No ribs or pulled pork but chopped, coarse chopped or sliced served with their own style slaw. The BEST!!!
