Top Local Tips for Boone

Bland Meal--Boone, NC Makoto's--Do not eat at this tourist trap. It is a sit down restaurant where the cook cooks in front of you. My Husband and I tried the Yakiniku. We are thirty years old. The meal was so bland. It should have been served to Nursing HOme Residents. Stay away!

The wrong rooms at Chetola We had a room in the lodge at Chetola facing the lake. Unfortunately, that's also where the huge tent and equally huge speakers were set up for a wedding. From 8am until 5pm, the front of the lodge was bombarded with blaring, bad pop music. Call ahead to see if you'll be facing the same situation and if so, ask to be moved as far from the lake as possible.
