Confronted GM with a small situation at hotel. Mr. Marc Rosenbalm seemed to be unaware that he was the General Manager of the hotel, ( I knew his idenity ) Nice hotel, but needs hands on help from GM and some fine tuning on amenities and guest PR. Never seen the GM at the front desk (i.e. greeting guests, asking how was there stay etc.) after 2 years of on and off stays.

Top Local Tips for Asheville

Biltmore Estate Definitely worth the trip in my opinion. It's a bit pricey, but that's why I stayed all day. From 8:30 am until 5:30 pm. It takes about two hours to go through the house, I really recommend the exra $8 for the audio guided tour. I also perused the shops outside the house after the tour. Beware, you'll want to be a lot of stuff!! I spent way too much money there! I also toured the gardens. The bass pond is ok, but the waterfall is a joke. It's water running from a sewage drain! Unless you want to talk, don't bother. The farm was fun. I wish I would have taken a horse ride or something though. The winery was nothing special for me, I don't like wine. I did do the wine tasting though. It's free. You can also sign up for other tastings during the day. I heard one lady talk about the chocolate tasting she went to and when I tried to sign up they weren't doing it. They had a champagne tasting, but I don't like champagne. Don't miss this great place!

Train Ride from Bryson City take your lunch with you or Book in advance. Lunch at the 1 hr lay over is not worth the cost and some time in busy season, que for the food is too big. Save your time at the 1 hr lay over at Nantahala for taking good picture or enjoying the river. (2) Choose audio rental , when buying the entry ticket at Biltmore. $8 is worth paying to know the room to room history. Don't buy the picture taken by the staff inside the biltmore, until picture comes out very good.

Farmer's Market The Farmer's Market is less than 3 minutes from this motel and if full of fresh vegetables and fruits, jams and syrups, crafts, etc. I bought some sourwood honey there which I saw later at a shop a few miles away for twice the price. The tomatoe's we got there were awesome too.
