Top Local Tips for Asheville

First Time in Asheville We loved the Biltmore. A strategy that worked for us was to arrive after 3 pm and you get the next day's admission on the same ticket. First thing we took a behind the scenes tour which included several roof top forays. Our guide was Chris and he did a very good job. Lunch in the Stable is top notch. Discovered Duck rabbit Amber Ale there - very nice. Higlight of shopping in Asheville's Arcade was the grocery store on the lower end. Staff is very friendly and willing to help a tourist find their way around town. Visited the co-op grocery as well in search of more Duck Rabbit - success! Found Doc Chey's Noodle House to be exotic and delicious. Surprised to find that it originated in our own Atlanta. Must get out more. :)

Pisgah National Park Go early during the week. Check out slippery rock and looking glass falls. Pack a lunch and plenty of towels. Take the pets, and don't forget the kids.

Historical Site Take a day and spend it at the Biltmore Estate. It is well worth it.
