Being that we are having a house built in Catskill, we had to take care of much business on a work day. We chose Ho Jo's cause of it's proximity to our house. The staff was so nice at the front desk. We left L.I. early to beat traffic and got up there at 8:00 a.m. They let us check in at that time instead of 2:00p.m., twice! The food servings were very huge and good. We had a window that opened up but the lock worked. We had a plastic covering on our window cause they were staining their deck. No big deal. It was gone before nightfall. I was very satisfied with their politeness & courtersy. I would not have a second thought to stay there again. Once again, the women at the front desk were fantastic!

The room was very nice, but you could only use the pool for one hour. The person that watched the pool was also the reservation clerk, so you had to get out of the pool when it was time for him to go back on the desk. My husband was so upset about this, but they closed the pool and locked the door, and that was that.

Top Local Tips for Saugerties

Dining I had the best meal of my four day stay in Saugerties at the Cafe de Tamayo. Close by in Hyde Park, there is excellent dining at all 5 restaurants run by the students at the Culinary Institute of America. Overall, I was very impressed with the dining opportunities in the area.

great clean room... very nice clean room and there is a nice restaurant too and good for kids activity such as pool and sauna..

Wonderful Great restaurant just west of Saugerties called New World Home Cooking. Quality of the food is wonderful and their prices are fabulous. Plating is excellent and they treat vegetarians like real people! We were full (and then some) and got away with a cheaper dinner than when going out for a night back home. Dining room was a bit cramped, and a bit noisy, but our service was impeccable and I'm willing to overlook a lot for that. If you're anywhere within driving distance, stop at this restaurant. But MAKE A RESERVATION!
