We booked a three night stay for 2 tent sites on July 15, 2010. My husband and I on one site and my Mother and Father on another. On July 22, 2010, we found that the campground was in New York and not Canada, so we called to cancel. We were informed by a semi-English speaking lady that the first night for both sites would be charged anyway. I called my credit card company to stop the charges, only to find they had posted all three nights, for both sites to my credit card, totalling $251. I am currently disputing it and will NOT stay there. If you want a good campground, DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!! We have also turned them into the Better Business Bureau.

I was not informed of the cancellation policy when I made my reservation over the phone. When I called to cancel my reservation, the owner informed me that I could not get a refund! I asked him to make an exception since I was not told about the policy and he told me that I should have known! Then he yelled at me no refund and hung up the phone! Horrible, greedy man!

Tent sites back-up to swamp - kids swarmed by mosquitoes. City center - near fire station w/10 minute alarm. We forfeited $42/nite and moved to Four mile creek campground for $18 (great!). Bathrooms dirty & small even for a size 2 with large spiders hanging about your head. Showers clean.

Top Local Tips for Niagara Falls

The candy store almost under the bridge Definitely visit the candy store almost under the bridge on the Canadian side of the falls. Their homemade fudge is Excellent! It certainly a near hidden gem, but it was highly recommended to us. I definitely recommend this store to anyone!

NFTA bus service Bus service in Buffalo, and Niagara Falls is pretty good for the general population size of the area. You can get an adult day pass on board the bus for $3.50 which is good for all of Buffalo area, and Niagara Falls. There are two buses from the Buffalo Airport that go downtown where you can connect to a bus to the Falls. It might take you close to two hours to get there from the airport, but it beats a high $$$ taxi ride. Plus you'll still have the pass for the remainder of the day. If you just want to go from the Buffalo Airport to Niagara Falls the ride would be $2.55 total. So this is a good deal for the budget minded traveler. Also, one block from the bus station downtown is the local library where you are able to get a guest pass to use the library, check out books, and access the internet computers.
