Good Place to Sleep!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We were in Niagara NY, Aug 13-16th 2005. We were at the Hamton Inn Niagara room 219. First things first! We had VERY DIRTY carpeting! Something Stickey everywhere! No bare feet. Hot breakfast is not really hot (warm sausage, french toast sticks & scrambled eggs) by the time you can find a seat in small dining area! The bathroom door did not lock & was crooked therefore was very hard to close.

The room was clean, bed was clean and the bath and shower all were clean!

Who stays at a hotel to eat!?!?!?!?! 1 Block away the Casion has a great Las Vegas Buffet for $8.99 and the whole family is welcome!

The Red Coach Inn on buffalo Ave is another great place to eat if you are after class & romance or just a quiet place with great food (a little pricey but good)

The Hampton is within walking from everywhere you want to be.

For the price and location you cannot beat the Hampton!

Great Hotel, Great Price - Beware Check In Time!!

from StevefromBelfast
First Up, this is a great hotel; Clean, modern and very reasonably priced. it is close to the falls and the rooms are spacious. That siad, they do not allow you to check in until 4pm and there is no-where to leave your luggage. I had one day only to visit the falls as i was leaving the next day. Upon arrival at 11.00 am i was told that i would have to wait until 4pm to check in and there was nowhere i could leave my bags, go visit the falls and come back. Therefore i would have to wait until 4pm giving me only an hour ot two to view the falls before all the daytime attractions closed.

I found this unacceptable and after complaining and creating a fuss i was eventually given the first room available at 12.15pm. This allowed me to do all that i wanted at the falls and as a result i was satisfied. That said for a hotel of this size and reputation not to have a left luggage room is not only strange but unacceptable. Not everyone may be as fortunate as me to be given the first room available, so beware if you only have one day.

If you have longer, stay here, the hotel is excellent, staff friendly, rooms clean, location great.

Great value for a nice price !!!

We stayed there in June 2005 with 2 adults and two older children.
Everything was very good. The room was very clean and spacious for 4 people and our baggage.

Very nice and helpful staff. Only 500 m to go to the Falls (you can go by feet !!!) .

Free LAN in the room, free wireless LAN in the lobby. Ask for the code at the front desk.

The free coffee/tea-bar is a great plus. We arrived after 7:30 pm after a long ride and could get a coffee/tea without looking around for a diner.

Free Ice-cube-maker on every floor !!!

Big complimentary breakfast-buffet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with all things you need in the morning.

Keep it up !!!

unsafe parking lot

from A TripAdvisor Member
We were directed to the rear parking lot so my disabled husband would have close access to the elevator. Our car was broken into overnight with two windows being broken out. The hotel never responded to the car alarm going off and never even looked at the car. They just phoned to tell us guests had noticed our car had broken windows! The security light on the back lot did not work at night and they have no security guards, which I think they could use. The hotel is comfortable and clean, but security is a real issue. Park near the front door if possible.

Clean hotel, good service and location

from A TripAdvisor Member
My family just returned from Niagara Falls, where we stayed at the Hampton Inn on Rainbow Blvd. We have no complaints about the hotel: the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is more than sufficient. The parking lot has some areas that aren't well-lighted; I'd suggest trying to find a spot close to the hotel entrance.

The walk to the Falls isn't too long, but we often used the city trolley service, which stops directly in front of the Hampton Inn. For $1.00 per adult (children ride free), you can ride the trolley all day, getting on and off as you like. It's a great value.

Always get Good Value

Niagara Falls, NY is the sleepy side of Niagara - not many good quality hotels. Hampton Inn is a jewel in the rough. The room beds are comfortable, the room is spacious, the staff friendly and the breakfast buffet plentiful. Nice touch to have hot coffees and teas in the lobby sitting area by the fireplace 24 hours. Its conveniently located within walking distance of the casino and Niagara State Park for Cave of the Winds and Falls watching. The area is safe for evening walking and restaurants are nearby.

I just came back from Niagara Falls(NF) on May 15th. Stayed there for a night and I will definitely l come back again if I visit NF later. Staff is very polite and very helpful. Check in is quick and I was given a two-queen-bed room. Bathroom is huge and clean. Coffee machine, iron board and safe are included. You will also have FREE INTERNET (wireless and cable), just go to frontdesk and ask for access code.
It has nice indoor pool and spa which closed at 10pm. Gym room is a bit small though but everything is working fine.
You'll get free breakfast - sausage, eggs, bread, bagel, orange, banana, cereal, yogurt, tea (lots of flavor),coffee, opened from 6am to 10am. You can save lots of money on breakfast.
If you need direction to places like restaurant or supermarket, just ask frontdesk and they will print the direction for you.
You'd probably need a car as walking to the NF state park will be far. Park your car at Goat Island ($5) and walk by the Horseshoe Falls, cross the bridge to the American Falls. Great view. Then take Maid of the Midst and Observatory Tower. NF Illumination starts late. I was there at 9pm but no lights yet. Need food? Go to Niagara Falls blvd, I-190 exit 22 bear right. NEVER EVER EAT AT INTERNATIONAL BUFFET!

Clean and modern

Very pleased with room and accomodations. Room was very clean, modern, and good size. Staff was courteous and helpful. Great breakfast buffet was included in the rate. Would definitely stay there again.

It served its purpose

from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel served it's purpose. Didn't spend to much time there. It was convient to the falls, though a little too far to walk found taking the car was alot easier. The casino was across the street. Easy to find your way around town. Not much to do on the american side, lots on the canadian side.

We stayed at the Hampton on 4/15/05 and 4/16/05. I have no complaints about this hotel at all! Everyone who worked there was kind, courteous and helpful. Our room was spotless and our beds were comfortable. We had basic cable and free HBO. The free breakfast that the hotel features exceeded my expectations! There is not much going on around the hotel, with the exception of the Seneca casino. We had to get on the highway and take another exit to find a restaurant. I would highly recommend the Hampton if you decide to stay on the American side of the Falls. It was an easy, five minute drive to the Canadian border. We didn't check out the fitness room or the pool, so I can't comment on those. The snacks in the vending machines were reasonably priced and the elevators were quiet and fast. I was quite impressed with the hotel, especially in light of the fact that they had large groups coming and going. The staff never got impatient or treated you like a number. Thanks, Hampton, for making our stay such a pleasant one!

Top Local Tips for Niagara Falls

Can't count on weather! Our trip was the end of May which normally is not as cool. We happened to have had the coldest and windiest weather pattern that week which was not typical. The upside is that we did avoid the summer crowds, but I think May is still a little chilly to completely enjoy the outside sights.

Hotels are cheaper in Ontario Hotels are much cheaper in Ontario and the immigration experience was not painful even though we are foreigners.
