Wonderful Stay! Would go back.....

The best location. Having said that, at the moment there is a lot of construction going on, so it was a little confusing to find the right way into the parking lot at first.
Stayed two nights. All around the staff was great.. Enjoyed having our room on the first floor. Easy in and out. The room was average and clean.
The continental breakfast was better than most. Had waffles on the second day. Very enjoyable and filling. When I was bringing some beverages back to our room, the server was very helpful and gave me a plate to help carry them.
Only time we needed to drive anywhere is when we went up to Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown. Our same parking space was available when we returned.
Everything is within walking distance. One thing though....the Casino is easy to get to during the day because you can cut through some buildings; but at night, one of the buildings is locked up so you have to go fully around the few blocks. With all the construction going on and lack of sidewalks sometimes, watch out for the cars. This was the only time I felt a litlle scared.
But all of the park attractions are well lit and safe.
Skip the rock and roll restaurant in the back. Slow service and below par food. Also went there to get some take-out coffee one of the mornings and it was bitter and undrinkable. The Hard Rock Cafe down the street is fun and better food.

Best Location, Okay Hotel

Saw this hotel rated as No. 1 in Niagara Falls. Based on location and price, I agree. American Falls are across the street, and bridge to Canadian side is just as close. Otherwise, this is a typical economy chain type hotel, rooms clean and adequate, nothing special. Continental breakfast is poor. This being said, I would stay there again, with the location and price overcoming the rest.

I chose this hotel based on the reviews here, and I was not disappointed at all! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Once we parked in the hotel lot we didn't need the car again until we left! It is in a perfect location and we walked mostly, but did use the trolley. We got a nice package deal through the Niagara USA website that included the hotel and various attractions. I would definitely stay at the Comfort Inn again!!

In August 2006, my wife and grand son stayed here on the advice of others on this site. We were not disappointed. The location was excellent, within walking distance to both American and Canadian falls, the staff was courteous and efficient, the room was good sized and clean. Beds were comfortable and the continental breakfast this morning was more than adequate. We would stay there again and would recommend it.

This hotel was directly across from the American Falls park and within walking distance to the Rainbow Bridge to Canada as well as Seneca Casino. It was clean, well-lit, and had a great continental breakfast. The price was the best considering we had a free breakfast and free parking which are hard to find in this area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families.

I just stayed there for one night but man was it worth it! You can't beat the location, you are literally steps away from the Falls. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was nice even though it was on the ground level and kind of isolated from civilization (make your own waffles, always a winner in my book!!!). The 50's style dinner that sits next to the hotel is terrible!!!, but no worries, Hard Rock Cafe and many other great restaurants are close by, especially on the Canadian side. If you cross to Canada, dont forget to go to Antica Pizzeria, original Napoli style pizza, fantastic!!! Is located on the strret parallel to the main street that travels side by side to the falls. Overall the hotel was great, can't beat the location, clean rooms, affordable price, will surely go back...

The Best on the New York side!!!

Stayed at the Comfort Inn the Pointe for 3 nights in June 2006. It was a wonderful hotel--perfect in so many ways. The location is the BEST, you can walk about 1 minute to Prospect Point at the American Falls for the most beautiful view in the world. This is a great walk through a relaxing, green, lush park. You can also easily w alk to the trolley which is the ideal way to get around on the New York side--it takes you to all of the major sights and lookout points. Right past the trolley is the Visitor Center (tons going on here and a great source of information) and then the Rainbow Bridge to Canada--all an easy walk from the hotel door. You can be in all of the excitement of the Canada side in a 10 minute walk. Another thing I liked is that there are tons of places to eat and shop either adjacent or within a block from the hotel. I had a large, clean, comfortable room on the main floor, which was great. There was even a night light in the bathroom, a nice touch. The parking is free, which is always nice, with plenty of spaces in a large, well-lit lot. I travelled alone and always felt safe. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and there was even a concierge if you needed help planning your activities. The hotel is in great shape--very large, inviting, clean, and well kept. Even the price was good--only about $80 a night which was a steal. Let me warn you--the other hotels on the New York side were horrible looking. They seemed old, dirty, gross, and totally nasty. Comfort Inn was a beautiful hotel and an ideal place to stay and see it all in Niagara Falls!!! The free breakfast was extensive and delicious, had several friendly staff members keeping the items stocked, and was served in a large room with plenty of room for the crowd. However, one of my only complaints was that this breakfast room was quite a dungeon--underground with no windows or fresh air. Being in such an amazing location, I wish the breakfast room was more open and bright. My second complaint was that the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, a 50s diner, was terrible. I ate there twice and both times had a crummy meal. Try the Hard Rock Cafe next door or any of the restaurants on the Canada side. If you are going to stay on the New York side, trust me, this is the only hotel to choose. Feel free to email me with any questions and enjoy!!!

Living here in Oregon, we had never been to New York.
I got on the internet for initial information and then called a few places.
We judge a place by HOW NICE PEOPLE ARE TO YOU WHEN YOU CALL THEM.
The people at The Comfort Inn On The Pointe were vere very nice.
Upon arrival, we were shocked to discover that there were so many commerical
buildings around the Inn.
Even though there was a INITIAL PROBLEM and MISUNDERSTANDING on registering, it was quickly resolved . ( I was ready to go elsewhere!)
The room we were given was SUPERB.
A little small perhaps; BUT it had two windows. One overlooked the American River Rapids, and the other provided views of the park.
Also, findinbg our way to the basement for a continental breakfast wasn't fun, but the food selection was very good.
WE WOULD DEFINATELY stay at this Comfort Inn again.
We recommend it !

Great Location - Great Value

One of the travler advisors at the Angola rest area put us onto this hotel. The hotel's location (400') from the top of the falls and across the street from Niagara Falls State Park provide it with the best location in the city. The complimentary breakfast was very generous in food selection even though we had to wind through the basement level hallways to find where the breakfast was being served. While we were able to take advantage of a special room discount courtesy of the travel advisor we found the room slightly above average in amenities and comfort of the beds and towels.

I loved this hotel. The rooms are clean and the people are freindly. I love the location only a step away from all the stores and the falls. GREAT VALUE. Its a home away from home.

Top Local Tips for Niagara Falls

Unacknowledged Jewel Go to the Aquarium of Niagara (US side)! It's not as glitzy as Marineland, but is much more personal.

dining. go to the Canadian side Eat dinners on the Canadian side, they have a Rainforest Cafe, chili's, and a bunch of other nice restaurants behind the border crossing area, near rainbow bridge.

Stay in america Unless you can't walk any distance it is best to stay on the american side if you are coming from the u.s. and walk accross to canada. We witnessed a lot of traffic on the rainbow bridge which i assume is for customs and security reasons. All you will want to do is walk and take pictures of everything on both sides of the river anyway.
