The Pickwick Arms Hotel is a great budget hotel. It was extremely clean, and the rooms are more than adequate for the single traveller. The beds are comfortable and provide all that is needed for overnight stays in New York. Five nights were spent at the hotel, all of them very comfortably (from July 28-August 2). Was there during the heat wave, and it provided necessary respite. The hotel staff was very helpful and informative about New York and readily answered all of my questions. Overall, a very good experience and would stay there in a flash again.

This hotel is the most simple hotel, probably in manhattan. But dont let this spoil it. I've come back from it today and it was awesome. They have a roof terrace from stairs b! and the give better sights than from the empire state building! The person who said its dusty and noisey because of building work is wrong. I went when they where working and you dont notice it ecause they do it a floor at a time so there never near where you are staying. I highly recommend this hotel. The area is perfect and the garden green deli is close, which is awesome.

There are considerable building works going on at this hotel making it noisy and dusty. The staff is rude and unhelpful. Save your dollars and sleep at a bus station; it's quieter and the staff are a great deal more helpful!

The Pickwick Arms is a bare-bones hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are tiny, the TV sets old, no Internet -- but it is very clean and well-run. The least expensive rooms have communal bathrooms -- not recommended. Otherwise it's a fantastic bargain for those who when in Manhattan would spend their money on something other than a hotel room.
