Top Local Tips for New York City

traveling ring taxi's yourself! You get no help from the staff. the best one to ring is staten island taxi's ( i think it is) and ask for Mike.. cause he is lovely!! He gives you a history of the places you go past! lol and if you're english, call clove lake cabs, and ask for the puerto rican guy.. he loves the english!! hehe

Definitely Newark Be sure and fly into Newark to access Staten Island. Even that is a trick, but a bit less expensive than accessing Manhattan. The cabs/car services are a minimum of $70 one way once you pay the bridge tolls and tip the driver. The bus was $5-$6 (I bought a Metrocard) and provided a somewhat scenic route to midtown Manhattan. Well worth the cost difference.
