Sheraton Manhattan Hotel New York City

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights - never again - we requested a quiet room away from the lifts - guess what? We got one right next to the lift which made groaniing noises night and day - The rooms were small and the carpet had chewing gum on it. The decor was cheap and the net curtains dirty and tatty. There was no real area where you could sit and relax in the public area. The users of the pool seemed to think that it was ok to come on the lift in swimming gear and dripping wet! Generally the staff were unhelpful and the guests a bit uncouth.
