It's hard to find a nice, clean, respectable place to stay in a decent nyc neighborhood for under $200--but this was it! Right near the Empire State building, Chrysler building, and bus station, it was a surprisingly lovely little hotel for about $140. Amazing!

I was really dissapointed when I arrived at this hotel. Although I made reservation more than a month before my trip, I received the surprise that no room was available due to lack of water, electricity, which I suppose was not true.
Even if above was true I would have expected to be provided with another similar room as it was not my fault. I have always admired service provided in USA but this time it failed.
The least I expected when I arrived at this hotel at midnight after more than five hours of travel was to have my room reserved.
They did not give any solutions just sent me to another more expensive hotel at walking distance, however with heavy luggage and tiredness a taxi would have been appreciated.
I will never again visit this hotel and I will not recommend it to anyone.
It really was a bitter experience. I hope this message could be read by the sales manager or responsible people who promote this hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed here last year 2004. It was our first visit to Manhatten, and it was great. The Hotel is very well located, very reasonable, and offered a lovely breakfast. We were only there for 3 nights, so we were on the move,so it was great to have the little store next to the Hotel where we booked all our excursions, and the gentleman there was so helpful. There are nice little restaurants close by, and it was no hassle to walk to Times Square etc.,. This location of the Hotel is ideal, our room was large and had two Queen sized beds and clean, and the price is definately right. Just enjoy.

I stay at East Side few times a year - it's conveniently close to where I work then, the neighborhood is nice. Rooms are clean and well equipped - bathroom above expectations. It's small things that need to be taken care of: a smoking room with one or zero ashtrays sometimes, or a broken remote, or one phone works the other doesn't - and those things don't get fixed during my stay. Actually I got the asthrays, but only after two nights. Breakfast could be a bit more diverse; nevertheless, it keeps me up all day, specially when I have no time for lunch. A little wish: I know it's nearly impossible to keep outside of the windows clean, but at least the lower pane, please - the view is great sometimes, and it's hard to find a clean spot through which to aim the camera. I'll be back, of course. Both my boss and I regularly stay at East side.
