Very rude and unhelpful

I stayed at the hotel for a week, just before Christmas. Although the location was very good, very near to Times Square, and the room was clean, everything else was a COMPLETE disaster! The staff was the rudest and most unhelpful staff I've ever seen in my life, including some of the worst hotels around the world! Whatever we wanted we had to come across with a very high attitude of every single employer, and at the end we couldn't even have our job done! And most worse of all, a week after I'd checked out I realized that they still had $2,000 hold on my credit card, so I found myself calling my lawyer! Do yourself a GREAT favore and avoid BY ALL MEANS this hotel!

Well, the location is the only good thing about this hotel( I guess it´s the only thing that doesn´t depend on their staff).Never in my life had I come across such remarkably rude, arrogant and incompetent receptionists. The hotel entrance seemed like a refugee camp, due to the delay in sorting things out. I was told by one of the receptionists that my reservation was not a reservation at all, but only a request ( although I had paid for that...unbelivable!!)and I had to wait for 3 hours for the room to be ready. Well...my advice is to avoid this deplorable place absolutely at any costs.

I made reservations for a wheelchair accessible non-smoking room with a view weeks in advance. Got smoking room with view of alley. Upon ck out I complained to a different mgr and was told I should have said something b4 I pd. Since they already knew upon cking in I didn't think I needed to inform every hotel employee...?
Clean and Great Location

The Park Central was wonderful. It was very clean and great location. The staff was friendly. We were able to check in early and the room had a view of Times Square (18th floor). I would stay again. Didn't use room service or restaurant. Really nice work out room. Carnegie Deli down the street was great!

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, after reading some reviews, I was a little worried but I found that the staff were friendly, warm and helpful. The rooms are kept clean also on a daily basis. A great location within minutes from Times Square and Central Park. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York. I would stay at this hotel again on my next visit, hopefully sometime soon.
Disappointed in Service & Room

The hotel was not what it was portrayed to be on the hotel's website. My fiancee and I had a late check in and informed the hotel of such twice before arrival, so we were very suprised to find that our room had been given away when we arrived at 12:30am on a Thursday night. The explainatation from the desk clerk was that it was "first come, first serve" to which I asked what are reservations for? The clerk did not answer me and after approximately 10 minutes of wrangling we were giving an upgraded room. Though we were provide a suite we were underwelmed with the furnishings and view of a brick wall.
Avoid at all costs

Took a large group to the PC. 40% of the rooms were not ready until 6 hours after contractual check in time. When they did enter rooms, many were unhabitable - one person who waited until 1 PM to get their room found empty liquor bottles and remains of someone being ill still in the bathtub. Too many more stories of horror like this to mention. Hotel management was unresponsive and front desk staff were incompetent and rude. General Manager has yet to call me to address the situation. Taking all of this up with the Hotel Association of NYC and the better business bureau. This hotel is a complete disaster. Spare yourself the pain.
Nightmare

We arrived at 8pm and had to wait until 1am for our rooms to be cleaned even though we had paid for them in advance and had phoned ahead to confirm our reservations. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. A complete joke of a hotel.
You Can Do Better

Having visited New York City on several times, I found this hotel to be adequate, but overpriced. The room not up to par for the price I paid... stains on the floor...I had a problem with the consierge when trying to get tickets for a broadway play. On a positive note, the location was great.

We were a bit concerned by some reviews we had seen. My wife and I stayed at the Park Central for 4 nights. The room was large for NYC, bathrooms huge, closet adequate. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location.
