We paid $219/night and stayed for 8 nights. The room was older, but clean. Large room, large bathroom. My husband thought the king size bed was too firm, I didn't have any problems with it. We were on the 32nd floor. The view was amazing--Chrysler building right outside the window and the Empire State Building was down the way. Ice had to be delivered by room service--but we weren't charged on our bill for it. The lounge was relaxing, although expensive--nice for a quiet drink at the end of a long day. We didn't try the restaurant. We went to the pool once--beautiful. Big change rooms, and they have a bathing suit dryer..try it, it's nice not to have a wet suit dripping in your bath tub. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Room was always clean when we returned at the end of the day. Lots of security and trained dogs around the hotel due to the delegates of the United Nations. Note: Do not go into the stairwell to walk down to the main floor. My husband tried, and couldn't get out at the bottom. He had to walk 29 flights back UP to find a door that would open to let him out. Excellent location. A few blocks from Grand Central Station where you can eat or catch the subway. John's diner is one block west--we ended up eating breakfast there every day...quick, reasonably priced, and will keep you full till lunch time. The hotel had internet, but it was expensive ($10 for 30 minutes). There is a small convenience store (with a yellow awning)just west of John's diner that has computors. You buy a code and can use it over several visits--much cheaper. Second Ave had: pubs, grocery stores, quick restaurants, formal restaurants, and a pharmacy--everything is close by. We walked to Broadway (approx 20 minutes), but I believe there is a shuttle from Grand Central Station to Broadway and there are always taxis. Overall, it was a good choice for us. We felt safe and were well situated to walk to places or access the subway. In other cities, you might expect a fancier room for $219/night, but in New York, I think that we did pretty good. Hope my reivew was helpful.

I have stayed at this hotel at least twice a year since 1982, through several changes in flags. The staff has remained pretty stable, however. It is my first choice in NYC. Great location and neighborhood, great, friendly service (cannot say that about too many NYC places) and greeat views and rooms.

This hotel is very well appointed with spacious rooms and good views allround. The only down side was that the restaurant lacked some atmosphere, but there is no shortage of places to eat at in this city. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

When staying in NYC, it's worth trying for a hotel in mid Manhattan. The Millennium UN Plazza is located within walking distance to the main attractions and has the added bonus of having superb views, mainly because the lowest room is somewhere like the 28th floor. Our room was overlooking east river and Roosevelt Island, to be honest I just wanted to lie in bed with the curtains open and admire the view! The staff is helpful and there is little to find to criticise about the hotel. I have read reports that the foyer is horrible, but in my opinion it's certainly unique and worth a look.

Went to NYC around Easter 2002, and stayed at Millenium UN Plaza. As a young, recently established couple, we normally would've opted for a low-budget hotel, but we got a good deal, and spoiled ourselves. And it was really worth it! The room was great - big, with bar and wardrobe, great view over East river, UN building and 1st Av. Service was excellent; the concierge really helpful and pleasant, efficient room service...good restaurant with nice staff; a little expensive maybe, but good food...
The location was good too; not "right in the middle" of everything, but within convenient distance. We even relaxed a little in the pool; with a great view over East River; that was cool! Would definitely stay there again if a good offer came along!

This is an excellent hotel for the business traveller - in a quiet location yet central for everything. Rooms have wonderful views of the New York skyline and the East river. Large rooms by NY standards. Staff are friendly and helpful. The restuarant is very overpriced, and ice is only available from room service. Very close to John's Deli which is great for breakfast!

This hotel is one of the best hotels I ever spent my time. I had a room in the 40th floor and is has been a great view to midtown Manhatten. The employees are very friendly and asssit you as I have never seen in other hotels around the world.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times. The views are excellent, the rooms very good, and the staff competent. I'd go there again (depending on price, of course; in NYC, prices seem to fluctuate a lot.)

When in NY last year, I was on business and very tired, I really enjoyed my stay with the UN PLAZA, very comfortable and cozy despite the very cold weather at the time. I particularly enjoyed resting in bed, having a gorgeous view over N.Y. at night. Besides, the room service was very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent and warm. When going to NY next time, I will certainly reserve a room with your hotel.
