Comforted dirty.When washed last?
Smoking room "converted" into NON smoking stinks!
Very imported 5 messages NOT relayed to us.Very disturbing.
Front desk clerks seem very bored with their job,as in don't bother me.
Front doormen greatest asset.

We stayed at the Millennium Broadway from 25th June to 2 July 2006 and were overjoyed at the services and standard of this hotel. It is centrally placed at 2 minutes walk to Times Square with all mid-town Manhattan being easily accessible. The quality and cleanliness of our room was matched only by the fantasic view we had from the 37th floor. Every facility we required was available and we felt completely comfortable and almost at home. Some hints if you find the prices in hotel restaurant and bar a little too pricey you only have to walk a few yards or less from the front or back of the hotel at 44th and 43rd streets to eat at spotlessly clean Deli with delicious and economically priced meals available all day and evening. Having visited as many New York famous places as possible in such a short time by using the subway, again accessible at Times Square, it was very rewarding to know that you were returning that evening to 4 plus star hotel with friendly and always helpful staff. Well done Millennium Broadway Hotel and thank you for the complemintary celebration bottle of wine on arrival and also for a wondereful and rememberable 40th wedding anniversary holiday.

When we arrived at this hotel, we were more then surprised when they checked us in (early) and the room was very impressive. We had views of Chrysler Bldg., Empire State Bldg., Times Square, and even the river. It was so quiet in our room we opened the window to hear the NYC sounds. Windows were huge. Bed was extremely comfortable (king) with a wonderful cozy blanket in the closet with extra pillows. Bathroom was marble from the ceiling down to the floor. Had minibar, coffee maker w/coffee, complimentary water, and flat screen TV. We heard no sounds from the hallway or through the walls. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better either. We would come back to this hotel without any doubts. Thank you to all the Millennium Broadway staff for making us feel special!

Think about it. You have a dream break planned. Just a few days but youv'e got to get it right. The destination, the dates and yes, the budget. All the best deals are found on the web, fine but it can be misleading as to what you are actually buying into. I need not have worried. Sure there were other hotels slightly cheaper, but whats a few dollars more to ensure the best.

From check-in to check-out all I can say that our stay at the Millenium Broadway was a runaway sucess. There was the staff who smiled and chatted and practically jumped in the taxi with us to make sure we reached where ever. There was the bar,laid-back and again with the most friendly people for company. Now, I don't know about you but my wife and I are creatures of simple taste so the restaurant although busy was kinda beyond what we wanted food-wise. The menu was wide-ranging but I thought pictched at a certain Broadway clientele and with prices to boot.

It was our intention to use the hotels' associated leisure facilities and when we checked-in the reception told us to simply 'pick up the phone and leave the rest to us'!

Now here comes the best bit. This was to be our first visit to the USA. A very special, once in a life-event and as I said, had to be just right.Having booked the hotel painlessly on-line, some weeks later my wife and I watched a travel review of Manhatten in awe of the sky-line etc. Some weeks later I email the hotel to find out if I could possibly have a room with a view of the Chrysler Building and left it at that. So we arrive on sunny sping day, we get to this hotel slap, bang on Time Sq and if our jaws hadn't dropped enough we were shown to our room that seemed in the heavens, whereupon the bell boy slowly rolled back the curtains of this darken room to reveal a view of Manhatten that will stay with us until we die. The Chrysler taking centre stage. We both gasped and the bell boy left laughing again saying 'just pick up the phone if you need something'.

For anyone wanting a prime hotel on what must be one of the beat locations on the planet,do yourself a favour. Just book the Millenium.

As I said to the consierge on our departure 'see you soon', I meant it.

The room was comfortable with great views. The lack of a lobby, however, was a serious drawback. Instead of a lobby there was a walkway for people to use from one street to another to avoid the cold. Another drawback was the restaurant, which for its fare is absurdly overpriced. The intent of an eating establishment should be to keep guests in, not force them out.

For the last 3 years now we have been staying at the Millennium Broadway NY for New Years week. It is a very comfortable, Luxurious, and just down right wonderful hotel to stay at when in NY. The convenience, service, and friendly staff makes the whole experience that much enjoyable. Every time we leave we manage to say good bye to our favourite bellhops and tell them "we will see you next year". Believe it or not the same bellhops are still there...So we know they love it there too. Enjoy!

Great Location....

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here for the New Years experience. The location is great, but beware, just because you are staying in Times Square, don't expect to get into Times Square for the Ball Drop. The hotel has nothing to do with the crowd control, it is all in the hands of the NYPD. Sad to say, we did not get to experience what we were expecting. Not the hotel's fault. The hotel Front Office staff were wonderful, and very accomodating. As a frequent visitor to NYC, you should expect a "New York hotel". This is a very busy hotel, they try to get you in and out as fast as they can. The rooms are alright, and surely a lot larger than some other pricier hotels we stayed at in the area. But we are told that they will be going through some renovations this spring (2004). Overall, the hotel is nice and will stay there again. So, bear in mind; unless you are planning to stay in your room all day and night and be pampered from head to toe, this is not the hotel for you- You are in NYC/Times Square after all.

Mediocre Hotel, Great Location

from A TripAdvisor Member
Mediocre Hotel in Great Location. The hotel has premier tower and regular tower. Our group had three rooms in the regular tower. The rooms were small, although some overlook Times Square. Despite our request to the contrary, we received smoking rooms which were particularly stale. Most important thing to know is that this hotel's rooms sleep no more than two. One room had a king, one had a double, and one had twins. A rollaway was an extra $50 per night. Staff was friendly and helpful, but their hospitality is impaired by a poor facility. Some online servies rate this hotel as a 4-star, which is a joke. I think the reference is to the Premier Tower, so be careful.
Regular tower is 2 star at best. I would not stay again.

s Eve Experience

from My_AZ
Got a great price through a website and stayed here for New Year's Eve.
Thought at that price they'd have us in the 3rd sub-basement, but no, we were on the 47th floor with a partial view of Times Square. Room was a good size for NY, clean, nicely decorated. The bathroom was very nice with glass shower doors and lots of mirrors. The bed was extra comfy with good pillows and a comforter. I'd definitely stay here again!!!

Location Best Feature

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed in 2 rooms here: one for us (non-smoking) and one for my parents (smoking). The difference in the quality of the rooms was unbelievable. My parents room had a LAUNDRY list of things that were wrong with it -- mini bar fridge stopped working and things in it started smelling because they were going bad, the toilet ran and you had to flush it 2-3 times before it was clear again, room reeked of cigar smoke when they got there (they opened the windows and cranked the heat and in 4 hours it was okay), the sink sprayed water everywhere and the showerhead was clogged up and had terrible waterflow. Our room had nothing wrong with it and we had a great shower, although the sink waterflow was pretty weak. The website touts down comforters and pillows; the comforter part is true, but it isn't the fluffy thing you expect, and the pillows are the regulation hotel poly foam bullets. The front desk people were always nice to us; we had boxes shipped to the hotel and UPS lost one for a day and the hotel was great about helping us find it (Christmas presents). I do have to say the concierge should consider another line of work. Christmas day we called them (Eve) to find out if Sardi's or Carmine's was open and she said no, there was little open on Christmas except for the Italian restaurant a couple doors down. Having eaten dessert there already a few nights before and watching them clean out the dessert case with spray cleaner while the desserts were still in it, we said no. On our way to the theatre that night we walked right past Sardi's and Carmine's -- both totally open and filled with people. Nice going. I'll call on my own next time.
Rooms were pretty blah on the whole -- beige and brown color scheme. We got a decent rate -- $200 a night after taxes and everything, but next time will try the W or the Marriott Marquis. I lived in NYC for a year and a half and it killed me to pay a fortune to stay in Times Square, but the location was more important than I was anticipating. Hate to pay that much for a B-/C+ hotel. Oh, and if they offer you car service to the airport, BE CAREFUL my parents got a joke of a driver who blared the radio and jumped the curb getting off the bridge and blew a tire.
Pretty safe to say they will NEVER stay in this hotel again. I would, but not in my top 5 choices.

Best stay in New York.

I last stayed in the hotel back in January 2002, My wife and i went there for our honeymoon. The service we received from the staff was exemplary, all where friendly and could not do enough for my wife and i also our two friends. We where given advice of where to eat and places to see. I can not believe the write ups this hotel is getting. My wife and I are both thinking of returning there with our two daughters. Can't wait!

Service was awful. Treated rudely.

from A TripAdvisor Member
I was treated poorly by the service staff. No assistance whatsoever with baggage, etc. I liked my room, but was angry over the way I was treated and thus did not enjoy my stay. I will never stay there again.

Poor Hotel in a Great Location

from A TripAdvisor Member
Having enjoyed the splendour of a new P&O ship across the Atlantic it took nearly TWO HOURS to check in. We always stay in 'smoking' rooms when possible, but the smell of stale smoke was offensive, even to hardened smokers. There was mould all around the bath and shower. The washhand basin didn't drain. There were no tea/coffee making facilities. In the last three years I have stayed in well over a dozen hotels in Europe & the US. This is unquestionably the worst. Having said that, we might just have been unlucky. The salvation, for us, was the location. Just a minute's walk to Times Square.

Don't let all the mixed reviews fool you. The hotel has a great location (1-2 blocks from Times Square & subway)!! Staff were friendly, had a great view of Crystler building and the room was spacious. Yes, the hotel could use some touchups (but remember=you're in NY). Overall it was clean, cozy, and modern. It was nice to have a soft comforter rather than a flowery stiff one from a motor inn. I'd stay here again;especially for the reasonable price I paid.

Great Place to Stay

Perfect location for sightseeing, dining and shopping in NY. Staff were helpful and accomodating. Room was perfectly cleaned every day.

Nice room, slipshod service

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed in a Premier room, which is in a separate tower from the main hotel. I loved the room; the decor was very pleasant with aesthetically pleasing lighting and use of delightful light green glass in the bedroom and bathroom, a very large window and nice touches such as a rock garden. The fitness center is small, but has good equipment. A very good complimentary continental breakfast is available in the lounge in this tower. Unfortunately, in numerous large and small ways which really add up,the service is remarkably deficient. When I called in advance to inquire what time breakfast is available, the person told me 9am. The next time I called (to inquire about parking, but I figured I would also ask about breakfast), the person told me 6:00 or 6:30 am. Breakfast actually started at 7:00 am on Sunday. The hotel staff should have known. The hotel service book explains where to find the ice machine, but there was no ice machine in my tower. In the gym, there were no cups for water, despite the presence of a cup dispenser. On the morning I was checking out, the housekeeper interrupted my shower to find out if I wanted the room made up. She should have known that I was checking out and stayed away until being notified that I had left. The concierge told me that my car would be at one entrance, but it was actually at the other entrance (it was pouring rain, so this was inconvenient). When I tipped the doorman and he gave me my car keys, he turned his back on me to continue blabbing with some man and he left me standing on the sidewalk to place my own luggage in the car. That was the final straw. I won't be returning.

Top Local Tips for New York City

Europa Cafe I think that's the name of a cafe that has good sandwiches throughout the day. It's a few blocks away on Broadway at 42nd, I believe.

cab fare $ 6 cab fare with tip to and from Penn Station

Taxis Tip- get a hired ride if you are coming in via LGA- its $39 in a nice cadillac. Taxi s/b cheaper, but we can in after the ice storm and it cost us triple.
