Fantastic Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
I got this hotel through the lastminute web site and spent valentines weekend here with my wife as a birthday present for her. A great hotel overlooking ground zero. and close to subways to get to anyother part of the city easily.

Website problems!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Great hotel, yes, but there were problems which were not addressed nor resolved.

I originally booked for a great rate via the Hilton website. The website deal was very attractive as this was my first visit to the city. When I got to the hotel, my rate was change to full price because Hilton had a problem with the website and the clerk indicated that becuases hte hotel was now full, I could not receive the promotional rate. I provided proof of what I thought was my confirmation from the website but this was not accerptable to her.

Upon checking out of hotel, I left a detailed message of my concern for hte manager. Never heard from him nor did I get a response or proper assistance from Hilton customer service because this hotel operates independently. Too bad for me.

A fabulous weekend

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed in the Millenium Hilton in November 2003. My first were impressions were fantastic, the lobby of the hotel was very impressive indeed. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was extremly comfortable and clean and looked out over the Ground Zero site which was actually strangely nice. It was quiet and in a good location because it was easy to get everywhere thnks to the subway. My stay in New York was fantastic, helped by the warm staff and lovely surrondings of this superb hotel. I would definatly stay there again. It was so nice to return to such a peaceful environment after walking around busy New York all day. I went over a weekend which probably made it quieter because nobody was at work. A good choice for your stay.

Excellent conclusion to fantastic vacation

from A TripAdvisor Member
We decided to spend 3 nights in New York in January after completing a Caribbean cruise over Xmas and New Year. Got a great deal also on Hilton website. The hotel does overlook 'Ground Zero', but this did not bother us. Great views from the hotel (we were on the 52nd floor). Did order room service for breakfast one morning and it was good, and also had dinner in the restaurant one night and that was also good. Century 21 great and close for shopping. All hotel staff very helpful and the rooms were amazing. Will be staying here when we return to NY later in the year.

Great hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed her over Christmas for 2 nights - got a good deal on
Highly recommend the hotel - spotlessly clean rooms, not too small by NYC standards. Increased security around hotel, but not a problem.
Staff very efficient and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. If you don't mind being in Downtown, stay here for a fraction of the price of a midtown hotel.

Great hotel for honeymooners

from GISr
We just spent 10 glorious days in NYC for our honeymoon and stayed in the Hilton Millenium. Excellent and classy hotel! We definitely recommend for honeymoon couples- very romantic rooms with incredible views, especially on the north and northeast sides on the upper floors.
All around service was outstanding, especially the housekeeping crew.
Subway stations to anywhere are within a minute walk, and for those who are fans of Dunkin Donuts coffee, there are 3 only a block or 2 away!
Will definitely stay here next time in NYC.

Incredible room and Incredible price...We love this place

from A TripAdvisor Member
In the past 6 months, my husband and I have stayed in this hotel at least 4 times, and each time we love it more. This is one of the only places we like to stay. We also stayed here prior to September 11th, so it holds a special place in our heart. For those of you who can't handle the memories of 9-11, you probably shouldn't stay here since it is directly across the street. If you get a room in the front of the hotel you WILL be overlooking ground zero through your large hotel room window. As sad as it is for us, we actually feel a connection staying here so often. The hotel was actually damaged (the building is all glass) and many of the windows were shattered. It just reopened in May, 2003. All I can say is this must be the VERY BEST buy in NYC. Their are only a couple of things I can see someone complaining about. First, if you are only interested in staying somewhere that has tons to do around you, this isn't the place. It is located in the Wall St. Financial district which is kind of dull on the weekends. For us, that doesn't matter since it is very close to the Village and Soho and we also have our car with us and don't mind driving 10 minutes. You will find stores and restaurants, but it isn't hustle and bustle like you find in many other areas. THE ROOM. This room is great! For NYC I would say this is very big. It is decorated modern, extremely clean, nice bathrooms with marble and granite, the 2nd most Comfortable hotel bed we have ever slept on (the Westin has the heavenly bed which is a tiny bit better), and an AMAZING 42" plasma TV built into the wall right in front of your bed....It is truly incredible, and for the prices you can usually get a king room for, I can't imagine anything is better in NYC. (when we book on internet travel sights ie:,, etc) we have gotten the king deluxe rooms for as low as 136.00 a night to 160.00 a night. The hotel staff are so friendly and the elevators are nice and fast. I can't speak for the food since we have never eaten here. You will really like this hotel.....I feel completely comfortable recommending it to anyone visiting NYC.

Superb hotel in NY

from A TripAdvisor Member
My Fiance booked this hotel for our romantic weekend in NY. Fantastic hotel, only had one minor problem with the heating but they sorted that out promptly. Fabulous room, with huge plasma screen, great view from the 34th floor, lovely bathroom ... oh can't forget the bed! so comfortable and very homely feel to it. Hotel practically next door to Century 21 - great store, we were there almost every day! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, can't wait to re-visit some time in the future.

Excellent Value

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed at the beginning of December. Room represents excellent valuie.
Location excellent as nearest subway has express trains going up both East and west-side of Manhatton. Also convenient for excellent Century 21 Store (next door)...for all those designer choices at bargain prices. Totally refurbished since 9/11...rooms have huge flat-screen plasma TVs. i have a Hilton Gold card so also got free breakfast. Would definately stay there next time I am in NY.

Enjoyed this hotel very much

from CruisingandDriving
Stayed here on Friday, November 7. Had to wait for a room but the wait was worth it. Room was great even though it was booked through Priceline. (25th floor directly overlooking Ground Zero and the water beyond. ) I would recommend staying here in lieu of staying in Midtown.
So many more interesting things to see and do in lower Manhattan. Hope to stay here again next time I'm in town.

Top Local Tips for New York City

Statue of Liberty Unless you want to actually go to the island. You can hop on the Staten Island ferry for free, and go right by there & Ellis Island. We were showed that by a local. It was amazing!

Know where you are going! There are so many fabulous restaurants in NYC. Don't go there without a meal plan - locate places near your hotel - you really don't have to go far. If a restaurant has been in business for a long time, you have to know it's good! New Yorkers wouldn't tolerate anything less. Also, don't hesitate to ask for recommendations - look for someone in a position of authority, ie. security staff, information desks, etc., and someone who is in your age bracket. We wanted to have "good NY pizza", so we asked and got a great recommendation from a guy at the info desk at the Empire State Building. It doesn't hurt to ask!

Warning Be ready for the dining experience! We are from Missouri where we have plenty of room to spread out in restaraunts. Not in New York! They will stick a table anywhere one will fit even if people can't fit in all the way.
