Horrid
Could not believe how bad it was. No heat, towels, or blankets. Bath facilities were
down the dark hallway. More like a flop house.
Refused to stay even though 4 nights had been paid for. The worst!

DO NOT STAY HERE!
We went on a school trip, budgeting of course. And in all honesty I would of rather have stayed on the streets. The reception was rude. The lifts were broke. The residents were dreadful. The stairs were blocked off most of the time. There was rat poisoning in my room and a cockroach. The computer did not work along with the phones. Most of the hotel was a building site, and we was not made aware of this.
The rooms aren’t what they appear on the internet, do not be fooled by the pictures! If I'm honest the most appealing thing about this hotel is the sofa in the reception, but even then the reception staff weren’t all that happy that we sat there!
For your own sake, stay away :)

Great Customer Service!!!
I booked a room in January, 2004 for the Valentines Weekend (February, 2004) to celebrate Valentines Day with my girlfriend. I confirmed my booking the day before I was supposed to check-in, and I was told that 'Everything is taken care of'. I was glad, but when we arrived on the evening of February, 14, 2004, we was told that Habitat Hotel (57th St & Lexington Ave) overbooked and we would be placed at another hotel by Penn Station (34th St & 8th Ave). I was totally shocked and very upset because I'd confirmed the booking the day before, secondly we had made dinner reservations by Habitat Hotel, changing the hotel would ruin the weekend, this was unacceptable. After listening to our situation, the Habitat Hotel manager took us into a room that was sealed due to maintenance, I must mention, he did that even though it risked his job. Plus, he waived off all charges! Yes, we stayed at the Habitat Hotel for free! Even though we got a room that was in a bad condition, we were still satisfie...Read more

Awful!!
Do not stay here!! The rooms are dirty and are more like a prison cell than a hotel room. I actually saw a rat running down the hall way one night. I do not know if this is true, but a cab driver told us it is actually government subsidized housing for the homeless. This is great, but they should not be advertising this as a swanky mid-town hotel. Do not stay at the Habitat Hotel.
