Top Local Tips for New York City
Getting around and finding Friendly Taxi drivers One of the amazing parts of our journey in New York, was being able to communicate and make friends with the taxi drivers. We just found out what the traditional greetings were for the taxi drivers, as they always turned out to be from various nationalities. They felt very respected and insisted on only charging us a set fee of between $10 - $20 for any trip all around the city including going across the Brooklyn Bridge to Jersey City...and they waited for us. We also had their details on speed dial for any time of the day or night..That was really awesome and saved us tons of dollars..
Greenwich Village If you're traveling as a couple, guys take a tip. Take the women to Greenwich to do some shopping. be sure to go into coach and get her something.... they hooked me up with some free cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery which we devoured and then walked to a cozy bar and got some drinks. The shop owners and workers are all extremely pleasant and very helpful.
