Weekend away in NY with friends

My wife & friends say they were promised a room with two large beds. When they eventually got the room it had, one large bed & a pull-out bed which is "extremely uncomfortable" so they take turns on it every alternate night.
In spite of this they are enjoying themselves but we would all probably not go back to this hotel in a group again.

My husband and I stayed at Bentley Hotel during our 3 day vacation in Manhattan. The hotel definitely gets an A+ in value. While the hotel charges very reasonable rates for its Upper Eastside location, it manages not to scrimp on comfort and aesthetic appeal. One thing we loved about the hotel was its unique character -- an absent quality in many popular hotel chains. The lobby is quite impressive (doesnt look like a generic check-in area) and the ubiquitous aroma from the complimentary 24-hour cappuccino bar makes the ground floor very inviting. Our room was a bit on the small side, but the modern, minimalist furniture made the room feel less confined, and the view of the Queensboro Bridge and adjacent buildings from the large window (absolutely gorgeous at night) more than made up for any lack of space. The bed and pillows were comfy and the cleaning staff did a good job in keeping our room tidy and well-stocked with towels and other basic items. Overall, Bentley Hotel was a nice retreat after a long day of perusing Manhattan.

As experienced travellers but yet first-time visitors to NY we found the Bentley Hotel to be very good value for money. The hotel staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful, the rooms were clean and tidy as was the reception and hallways etc.. Slightly away from the centre of the city but only a short Subway or Taxi ride away (Approx $8 to Times Square/Broadway). Also, pretty quiet at night considering that the hotel is next to the imposing Queensboro' Bridge/ Would definitely recommend a visit to the Bentley for any age group.

Very nice decor, service and staff. Room was comfortable and quiet. I received an upgrade to a suite with not additional charge. The neighborhood is very nice.
No frills, no thrills businessman's accommodation.

Lobby gives an impression of simple, modern stylish. Bed comfortable but room was freezing. Heater provided totally inadequate. Bathroom a little cramped, breakfast room was more like a glorified soup kitchen. Bed comfortable.

The hotel was still left and right in the midst of small renovation works, but this did not interfere with our stay. Rooms were nice, staff friendly and helpful. Only the restaurant (indeed with a great view) was not as inviting as could be.... We enjoyed the stay.

The Bentley Hotel was more that we had hoped for (my husband accompanied me on my business trip). The hotel decor is modern, elegent, and unique, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. And the price for a well-located New York City hotel couldn't be beat! I would definitely stay here again!

A good value. Breakfast was included. Interesting modern decor in the room. Great top floor view, where breakfast is served-- bar there also. Recommended!
