OH my ! What a mess, do not stay in this dump. They are still riding on their name from 30 some odd years ago. The place is awful! A dump! Not kept at all. The place is filthy, the service is terrible and they are so rude. Yeah they have a spa but it's so old, good luck if you get in the tubs & showers. In short the resturant is horrible, the place is broke. Don't waste your money.

Top Local Tips for Montauk
Overrated. Avoid. You can't even enjoy the beach as one person has to guard the car in case beach patrol comes in. Where do you get the beach passes on Labor Day when everything is closed?? (not at Gurney's Inn for sure!). And the surfers even suck.
Dining Be careful about the 18% service charge and requests for tipping additionally from the staff
great place to eat Cyril's seaside- small local owned seafood bar and restaurant. Ask for the special menu- amazing caribbean spiced seafood. Food was great for a roadside setting with great locals on a summer afternoon! No cards- cash only.

The waitstaff for the breakfast buffet were the most unfriendly group of people I have had wait on me in a long time. I could not even get the table cleaned off or a second cup of coffee...I asked three times!! Oh and the place smalls dirty.
One good thing..my daughter loved swimming in the indoor pool and the young lefegueard there was very diligent in watching all the children. The views are beautiful. SO if you are going to be on the beach mainly -go for it. I would not go here for an extended stay or book a wedding here until they clean the place up.
