| Wow! The Best in Lake Placid! |
| The Whiteface Lodge is a brand 85 room new condo hotel (fractional ownership) and conference center.
It is done over the top in the great Adirondack camp style of yester years. The great room is absolutely breath taking as well as the rest of the resort. Other guests were also
in awe as they walked through the front doors.
We counted 17 various sitting / lounging areas which provided lots of places to sit with friend.
Unlike other resorts we have been too, the Whiteface Lodge doesn't put everything just into the common areas, the rooms are just as gorgeous with top of the line furnishings.
Although all the amenties aren't completed, most should be completed by late fall.
This is a large property with 2 large ponds and lots of landscaping. The parking is underground so which eliminates the eyesore of vehicles cluttering the grounds.
There is a year round outdoor pool with 2 hot tubs that had just opened as well as some fun amentities such as bowl alleys, games room, movie theatre and a large exercise room.
This fall they should be completed a year round outdoor ice rink.
It's pricey to stay ($325-$395 for a one bedroom), but worth it if your looking for luxury and the most amazing ambience of any resort we have stayed at in Eastern Canada or the US.
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the pool, hot tubs, an unforgettable dinner, adirondack ambience, and the Explorers Club - bar.
They have a shuttle to main street in Lake Placid (< 5 minute drive) which saved us the hassle of parking.
From what we did experience, We see the Whiteface Lodge as THE place to vacation in the east, and our new favorite.
Will definately be back! |
