A Really Great Place

I also used to go here when it was called the St. Moritz. The previous owners had performed much structural renovation on the building. The current owner, Jill, has done an amazing job giving the place a vibrant, Adirondack-style atmosphere. Its good for the money, and there is a good price range. I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the heated jacuzzi pool downstairs.. you can have some beer in tin bottles while u take a dip...and right beside there is a pool table in a small, cozy gathering area with a fireplace.. all downstairs. Don't get me wrong, it really isn't a Holiday Inn type place, but it's really decent and comfortable. Jill, the current owner also makes the best onion soup in town, (really good), which you can try at the bar adjunct to the lobby area which also serves breakfast. Live music on some nights too! Some locals come play; it really makes you feel good in the Adirondacks. Good times. I plan on coming here again with my friends and going to Whiteface mountain only 25 minutes away for some hiking.

I have been going to this place (it used to be called the St. Moritz)for over 10 years and Jill (the new owner) has done wonders. The place has some real character, which is hard to find in this cookie cutter world. Also, it's just a stroll away from the Main shopping/eating/drinking/party street, but just far enough to be away from that same street (and those barking sled dogs).

Jill, the owner is great. She is helping us plan our wedding there...She has done wonderful things to the building, the relaxation of the hotel is priceless. It is an old style hotel-so don't expect the "luxuries" of a Hilton...but its an experience. A close walk to main st. its everything you could want and more than you would expect.
