We go to Lake George every year and stay at a different hotel. Last year we stayed at the Surfside and it's the first hotel we will be going back to. All around everything was great. Great staff, well kept rooms, great location. We could let our grandchildern play on the beach without to much worry. We ate at the breakfast buffet every morning. We loved it!

We have been staying at the Surfside for over 10 years and it never disappoints. The rooms are always nice and clean and the staff is super. I had to write this review after reading the others. We have friends who stay in the cabins and they love it. I know for a fact that the Surfside is constantly renovating rooms and the proof is in the pudding. I think some of these reviews are confusing the Surfside with the Lake side. We use the coupons which are free to guests and they do not expire daily and save us money. We just flat out love the Surfside.

It Stank!!!

Beach front cabin was a joke. We were assured that it could fit our family of five. We arrived and we had to walk down delapitated stairs to reach a tiny cabin on a mound of gravel. It smelled of cigarettes and mildew. The worst thing was outside our window the beach attendant was doing something very questionable in the storage shack. Fortunately, after we were refused a refund, our credit card company took care of it. STAY AWAY!!!

We got a masterview suite and for what we paid a night we expected a whole lot better room wise and needless to say we will never be staying there again. The screen door on the porch broke off as we tried openning it. The bathroom fan did not work. The worse was when I dropped an item behind a dresser and saw condom wrappers and who knows what else behind one of the dressers. The pull out twin bed had wholes on the blanket. It was one thing after another. We mentioned it to the clerk in front but didn't seem to care. We had view of the lake and pool which was spectacular but I don't think you can go wrong where ever you stay in getting some type of view of the lake. Spent majority of the time in the pool as the lake looked intriging but there were too many ducks in the area we could swim and people feeding them. Although this was our first time at Lake George and had a huge disapointment with Lakeside that will not stand in the way of coming back in the future.

This was my first time in Lake George. I with family members, total of 14. From the age of 60 down to 7. I found the rooms very clean and so was the bathroom. The staff was very polite and helpful in all areas. From cleaning, to asking for directions, to serving you breakfast. The pool and lake was also very clean and inviting. We are looking to doing it again next year. Each and everyone of us had a great memorable time. I would recommend this place to everyone. Have a great vacation.

Top Local Tips for Lake George

Don't try to look for parking on the strip. You are better off taking the trolley that goes up and down the strip and all you have to pay is a dollar to get on, or just walk it. Surfside is not far from any of the attractions.

The Great Escape What a ripoff! if you are looking to get nickeled and dimed to death go here. It costs like $40 to get into the park. that of course does not include the $10 parking fee, $20 if you want to park near the gates. On top of that you can not even bring coolers into the park! So instead of eating at your car you decide to eat at one of their conveniently located restaurants in the park so you then spend more money. If you still have not spent enough money, you can go on rides like the go-karts which, of course, cost extra.

Entertainment Book We purchased an en tertainment book for the Albany area previous to arriving for just 9.99 and saved over $75 with the buy one get one meals and all the additional recreation coupons!
