friendly staff, my room was clean, great pool, lovely beach that I did not mind walking to and from since I was on vacation and not in a hurry to get some where, nice play ground. I enjoyed not having the distraction of phone and internet to pull me away from being on vacation.

My two pals and I came south for the annual Americade a couple of weeks back. We had seen the Clinton's Inne website and it loked like it had what we needed. It was okay. But, nothing special at all. There was no putting green, we nver did find the sports stuff they advertise, the beach is way down a long hill that you aren't allowed to drive to or even drop off, and the romms are pretty average. We all felt like it was overpriced considering. No one welcomed us or even really ever acknowledged us. We checked in and never saw another staff person again, which was okay, but we wonder why they were so nice to everyone else. Oh yeah, our place had some cheapo furniture, too and the contact paper was peeling off.

We couldn't have asked for more

Couldn't have asked for more, everything we needed was right there! We ate breakfast each morning on the deck of the restaurant and then would leave for the day's activities. When we came back we spent the rest of the afternoon at the hotel's beautiful large pool, it was too cold for the beach. The staff was attentive and often asked if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. Any & every request was addressed immediately and with a smile-what a welcome experience that was! We thouroughly enjoyed are stay and would recommend giving the place a try.

We just returned from Americade and stayed at Clinton's Inn. The setting is beautiful and there are possiblities, but unfortunately, someone dropped the ball. There's a little store on the premises but it was open only in the mornings. Luckliy, there's a handy deli next door. We had breakfast and that was good, but its closed at dinner. They advertise a putting green, but it was just a weedy patch. The beach looks nice, but its down a very long steep hill and its too far to go if you have to carry stuff. There are keep out signs all over the place which isn't too friendly. The pool was nice. The staff didn't seem too helpful when we had to ask for directions and recomondations and such. The room was shabby and dirty and the kitchen wasn't well equipped so we had to eat out. Like i said, the grounds are nice, but the place itself needs some work because it was rather expensive for what they offered. We had seen a pamphlet that advertised things they didn't have once we got there. The office was rarely open in the evening, so it was hard to find out info.

We been vacationing at the Clinton Inn for years! The grounds are lovely and the view of the lake is spectacular. My children have enjoyed the variety of the beach and a large pool. Meals are fresh and home made...delicious! I have enjoyed the tennis courts and the putting green. My children love the playground. What a fantastic way to enjoy nature!

Great Service, Very Clean

Once in a great while you come across a place that gives you the kind of service that is so exceptional that you can't imagine going anywhere else. Well I found that at the Clinton Inn. The rooms were very clean, there is a mini store and restaurant right on the property, a private beach, swimming pool and the best service I have treated with in years. We were greeted by an older gentlemen who checked us in while his dog entertained my 18 month old daughter. Then a woman came over and asked us exactly what we are looking for in our stay. We told her clean and quiet and that's what we got. Right down to the staff weeding the gardens was nothing but short of excellent service that made us feel right at home. How we came upon this place is we wre driving up and down the road and randomly picked stopped because it looked well kept and not a party spot. When we got home we realized we left some very important medication in the dresser drawer. We called them and asked if the housekeeper had turned it in and they said absolutely. What a relief!!! Honesty!!! It was over an hour drive up there and they said no problem we'll ship it to you overnight. Free of charge. I mean that is just unheard. I manage a very, very large apartment complex and I know people love posting the negatives, but my staff and I hardly ever get credit for all the good we do so I am so happy to post this about Clinton Inn. The place where I'll come back to again and again.

We come down Americade every year. My family stayed in the area when I was young once so I knew the town was pretty. We had one room and our freinds stayed in the other section. The hotel is shaped like an L around a pool. We had reserved rooms next to each other and they already confirmed that we could have that but then afternoon when we checked in they said that they didn't have any rooms close by to each other so we were as far away from our firends as we could have got!! It was very noisy where we were because the people in the cabins behind us sat out on their porch until late. All night long was drinking. We go to complain in the office but there was never any person there. So went to the store across the lot but there was never any person there either. Maybe we should have walked in the kitchen like the other people but if we were supposed to do that then they should have told us that so we would know what to do!! The rooms were plain and seemed overpriced. The maids took forever to freshen the suites everyday. We also were charged a full price for breakfast even though its supposed to be included. They advertize free breakfast!! We told the waitress we were stay in hotel and she told us to help ourselves to the free buffet so if that wasn't included then she should have told us it was extra and then not charged us. Please forgive my English is not too good.

Rip-off!

Due to a last minute change of plans, we were unable to get reservations at our usual place for Americade. We called everywhere and felt lucky to book a cabin at Clinton's Inn. But, the place was shabby and dirty inside and we didn't have enough pots and pans to cook a nice dinner. (The kitchen stuff was dirty too.) The coffeemaker was broke. Our bed was hard as a rock and the sheets were threadbare. Not enough hot water either. If we'd been able to leave and stay somewhere else, we would've because this place was a rip-off. Americade rules, as always!!

The place seemed nice at first. We checked in to get our keys come to find out the doubled booked our room. apparantly our room was taken by the owners daughter, that would figure she would come first. We were given a cabin instead which was AWESOME until we found out it was vacant because that cabin had no hot water! so we showered in our neighbors cabin which had pubic hair all over the bathroom. when you need towels dont count on house keeping. they wanted us to bring them our dirty towels, telling us to come back in an hour or so. now why would I want to work around their pathetic schedule?? there were bugs in the cabins. And the advertised continental breakfast is a joke. They set up a buffet and make ou think that is the continental breakfast then they bring out a check and suprise you with a bill! the front desk is hardly ever open so i guess you drop your keys off at the convenient store adjacent to the check in building. don forget you have to walk into their kitchen to find someone because no one watches the register. the only way I would return to stay here is if there is not a single place in lake george to stay for the AMERICADE!
