If we'd discovered this site last month, we would have saved $1500 and lots of aggravation...The grounds are nice, and we liked the way the cabin was arranged around the edge of a little garden-type thing...The front porch was nice...But inside, it was dirty and shabby...Some of the blinds were missing or broken...The chairs were stained...The toliet paper roll thingie was missing...The panelling is cheap and bowed and has holes where the doorknobs crashed in...There's only one mirror in the whole place- - - in the bathroom...How are you supposed to get dressed without a mirror in the bedroom?...Our son can barely talk yet but even he pointed to the rug and said "dirty!"...The grounds are PITCH BLACK at night and very dangerous!!...We mentioned some of this to the girl in the office and one of the maids, but they just stared at us like we were idiots...Save your money...This place looks like it's seen better days, so go someplace with better standards...The bones are there, but it looks like the management doesn't care about anything.

Our cabin was 41495 for the week. Compared to other places that seemed okay until we got there. Negatives: Our sofa was broken and dirty. The chairs had stains and we wouldn't let our kids sit anywhere until we coveredd the furniture with towels. There were big spots on the carpet. All the doors had filthy hand prints all over them. There weren't nearly enough pots and pans or utensils. Everything in the cupboards was greasy. We had to practically beg for extra toilet paper or tissues. Our dirty towels weren't picked up for days on end. The cottage was full of bugs and my 6 year old got bitten by spiders. The pool is HOT! Not just heated, not just warm- - - it's actually HOT! The store at the place seemed to close around lunch time each day and nothing was open at night ever. The beach is down a long hill and there are keep out and no trespassing signs everywhere down there. Only a couple of stupid plastic chairs too. Positives: The setting of the cottage is attractive. They're all grouped around a center grassy area with barbecues for each unit. My kids liked playing there. The playground is nice. The trolley stops out front. The other guests seemed friendly.

The pool doesn't have enough chaises. The towels are the size of washcloths and they're thin and stained. The mattress was hard as a rock. You have to walk to the beach, but when you get there, you find out there's a parking lot down there for those places. Maybe if your staying in one of the lakefront rooms, it would be nicer, but otherwise, the place is gross and boring. My boyfriend tried to fish off the dock and he got yelled at. Heloooooo? Lighten up, people!

We wish we had seen these reviews before we booked our cottage. The grounds and trees are quite splendid, and the sights and sounds of nature are soothing. It's a lovely area, but the resort itself is nothing to write home about. Our cottage had stains on the rug and mismatched curtains. You can't open the windows without getting the valences trapped. The furniture is covered with peeling contact paper and the overall feeling is one of tacky cheapness. The stove was greasy and the kitchen was very poorly supplied. We asked for an extra pillow and the lady said they didn't have any. What kind of heotel doesn't have any extra pillows? Next year, we'll try Bolton Landing, because that area was recommended to us. We liked the area, but this resort didn't meet any of our expectations.

Having searched online for a family cabin in this area, we felt confident trying Clinton Inn. Their web site looked lovely and their prices seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, the pictures must have been airbrushed to take the squalor out. We were travelling with another couple, and one main reason we all booked this place was because of the on-site restaurant and cocktail lounge. Unfortunately, they're not open at night. If we ever return to the area, we'll stay someplace nicer and cleaner. I wish we had seen these reviews before we wasted our hard-earned money! Do yourself a favor, and read ours!

Since I was a kid, my family has travelled up from the city for the August meet at Saratoga. This year, my wife and i booked a cabin at this place, but it was a disaster from beginning to end. They advertise a restaurant and cocktail lounge, but they only serve b-fast and lunch. The bar isn't ever open. They advertise a playground, but it had police tape all over it. My boys were bummed. The beach looks nice, but its down a long hill and its too hard to walk with little kids and all the toys. The pool was okay. We agree with evrybody else!!! Our cabin was dirty and the furniture was falling apart. The rugs had HUGE stains on them, and none of the curtains matched. Some of the miniblinds were missing, and the others were an inch thinck with dust.

NEVER AGAIN! THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE THIS PLACE BECAUSE IT MUST BE A HEALTH HAZRD!!!!

My boyfriend and I and his sister and her baby son all went in on a housekeeping cabin for a week. We were pretty disappointed by how shabby this place was, although the pool was nice. There weren't enough chairs on the beach, and its way too long to walk, considering you have to lug your cooler and fishing stuff and baby toys and all. It looks like there's another hotel right down at the lake, but we couldn't get any info on that, because the girl in the office wasn't very helpful. She said that was the owner's house, but she must of meant someplace else. The place down at the beach looks like it has 10 rooms. Our cabin was pretty beat up, and it wasn't too clean. The area itself is pretty, so we'd like to go back maybe next summer, but we'll book somewhere nicer.

My husband, 2 year old daughter and I just returned from this place. We booked a housekeeping cabin based on what we saw online. When we got there, we were shcoked at the conditioms, but they said they had no other units to put us in. We called around, but all the resorts were full. Our cabin (#5) had a big hole in the wall, and lots of stains all over the floor. The sofa was broken in two, in additon to being old and really dirty. The price was $1395, and it was a total rip-off! Save your money unless you like living in a dump!!

My husband and I stayed here in late June in a housekeeping unit. We thought the place was very dirty and gross, but we had nothing to compare it to, since it was our first time in a rustic cabin. I'm so glad to read that everyone else thought the place was filthy too! The pool was nice and the lake was pretty, but the water was pretty cold. (I realize that that has nothing to do with the place itself!) We would have spent more time down at the beach just vegging, but there were no chairs and it was a very long and harsh walk back up! We had breakfast one morning at the restaurant, and that was good. We would have liked to try dinner, but it was closed. The store on the property had funky hours too, but there's a handy deli (Ray's) right next door that you can walk to. We'd like to go back to the Lake George area in the future, but we'll definitely get a nicer and cleaner place!

I was in the area to attend a wedding, so I only stayed for the weekend in a hotel unit. It was ok, but very bare bones and kinda shabby for the price. The ice machine was broken, too. When I reported that, the girl in the office got very snippy. (I wasn't asking her to fix it for me; I was only informing her in case she didn't know!). It was all right, but way overpriced. By the way, I talked to some people at the pool, and they said their place was dirty, so maybe the cabins are dirtier than the hotel rooms? Just a thought....
