This "resort" is in a beautiful location. For the price however it has alot to be desired when compared with other area attractions. The advertisements are misleading and the staff is somewhat unpleasant and rude. The rooms were adaquate, but outdated. Most of all the was not alot of privacy inherent in the facilities. It is a beautiful lake with many amenities, but the resort could be so much more. We left early.

This is our 5th year staying at Antigua. We have tried Units 3 4 and 5 which is now our favorite unit. This unit has a view of the lake from the dining area, living room and main bedroom. I have been going to Lake George for 30 years now, and anyone who is a fan of Lake George knows what some of the hotels can be like. Ok so this hotel may be older but its kept up very nice, the grounds are clean, the rooms are clean the beach is the best where you actually have sand and not just rocks like most of the other motels have. Lets face it how much time is really spent in the room, one year I had a full week of rain and still I was out and about all day long because there is so much to visit not just in Lake George but the surrounding area. I read where someone said the couch was old, so what, bring your own blanket throw it on the couch and you'll feel like home, Someone complained the pillows were old, so bring your own, I bring my own pillow and blanket even when I am staying at the Marriot!

Annie, Craig and their son Max are all very nice, very friendly. As a matter of fact my son and their son have become such good buddies that whenever we are there vacationing we enjoy taking Max with us on our outings, we thoroughly enjoy the personal tour he gives of through out the Lake, and he is a great fisherman, helps me with those worms and removing the fish on my hook. This place is great for families with young children, also i see alot of young couples also enjoying their stay, its great for everyone!

Any questions feel free to email. We love Antigua!

Lakeview and beach was very nice but the room was very outdated. They need to update there furniture and be more friendly to the people they rent too.
Beautiful Place/Staff ???

Lake George is beautiful from what ever angle you look at it. At Antiqua it's that much nicer. The rooms were very nice and we had no problems with bugs or dirt. The resort is situated on Plum Pt. You get a breathtaking view from most rooms. The sandy beach is large in contrast to most resorts with a swim platform which the kids loved. All rooms come with a gas grill and a picnic table. Our room had a Hot tub which was old but again the kids loved it.
Now for the bad part. We arrived new to Antiqua never having stayed there before. We were met by whom I perceived as the owner. Without saying one word he checked us in, scan our credit card and walk us to our room. I'm a pretty laid back guy but this was creepy. We were never inform about any nightly entertainment which we discovered 15 mins before it ended. Now I wasn't looking for a new best friend, but a simple welcome, we have entertainment an a bonfire on the beach on a certain night would have been nice.
Antiqua is a little pricy. It is a little quiet. It is not a five star hotel. It is a great family resort. I may or may not stay there again. The owner really creeped out my wife.
An overall poor experience

The view is great from this point but it is over priced for what you are getting. The linens and bedding was old and had dead bugs on it when we first arrived, and the towels for showers were the size of hand towels. The cleanliness was okay but we had an ant problem with just a couple of crumbs on the counter. There are very few places to sit inside and the ones that were there were very old and uncomfortable. The hosts were not aware of much going on in the area in terms of outdoor activities and were not very helpful when we had a minor medical emergency. I was overall disappointed with this resort.

Let me start by saying that I favor this hotel because I have visited it for over 3 decades and I have seen the vast improvements it has taken in recent years....
I admit, for those who need all of a hotels ammenities, stay away. Knowing why you decide to come back here is for the truly open minded at heart. Antiqua is quaint, quiet and a place you can feel at home...literarly.
This is a no-frills Hotel.
It is old world like and old school attitudes keep it like it is for many reasons. If you don't like camping, I suggest you stay at the W in Union Square N.Y.
Some may say that Antiqua is closer to a camp ground feel than a hotel. However, with this in mind, I challange you to take a deep breath, calm your city soul and reach deep in to that atmosphere of not having any options and liking it...
By far, the views from this Hotel far exceed any dislike towards ants looking for a crumb or a spiders web that was made over night. You will see chipmonks at your doorstep each morning. You will hear the cricket at night and you will let them lull you to sleep...with pleasure!

As for an occasional uncomfortable older chair, less than intrested hosts (by design) these grounds are spacious with fantastic sights from each of the cabins you have offered. Privacy is Key here at Antiqua. Families will love the place and Lovers will understand that is definatly a future stop with young ones...

I read the previous quote from someone that was apparently disapppointed. I venture to say they were born with a silver spoon.

Look, this is a place is a favorite of mine so I am bias, however, there's no better place to drop a picnic blanket and even sleep outside if you forget your sense of time with the picturesque views and catch some much deserved zzz's.

If you do go with your gut and believe me by goig to Antiqua, you should go prepared. If you like silk sheets bring them. If you have to use 10 towels for your hair, you not only have issues I won't discuss, but please don't write negative things in response.
Seriously, if you want to see a picture perfect sun set, this is the best place in the North East. Sitting on top of the boat house will take your breath away every evening. Especially when dusk turns to dark and the twilight lights the face of your significant other... a glass of wine and a paper plate of cheese is all you'll need. Antiqua is on the private side of Lake George and rightfully so. So when you see Craig (the laid back legand) tell him his old friend Patrick sends his best regards...
