This hotel needs updating badly. Anyone elderly or handicapped should not stay here as my mother in law almost fell in the tub. There are no hooks to hang anything and no place to put toiletries. Although the view is breath taking, this hotel needs renovations. We had a nice trip, but will not return there.
Wouldn't Recommend!

We drove 4 1/2 hrs. stayed 3 nights and I dont recommend it to anyone. The entire place is run down and rather dumpy. On arrival we waited twenty minutes for check in, in their musty smelling lobby, then were brought to a so called "suite" that was not what was shown on the website at all. A beat up couch, mismatched table and chairs *kitchen chairs were all they supply* The refrigertor was falling apart, no microwave (which they say is included) and the little stove *just didnt function properly. The bedrooms were OK but bathroom was dirty and smelled terrible.
The staff was nice and gave us another "suite" which was larger had a micro but kitchen smelled of sour milk so we had to wash the sticky floor and dirty frige. One bed was broken so the kids slept on it on floor. Livingroom was uncomfortable, paneled and had many flies, bathroom had minimal hot water. Everything was out of date and sub-standard. If we could have gotten our monsy back we would have stayed closer to the village where the accomodations are better.
I rated them a one because they had only one thing going for them...the lake! Nice view but you can get that most anywhere else.
Thunderbird is not worth the drive or money they charge and is in dire need of a makeover.

View of Lake was beautiful, Lake staff great and friendly. Rooms were run done and outdated, slow on housekeeping had to wait several hours for check in, blanket on bed smelled of baby vomit, took 2 days before they finally cleaned it. Plently of nicer places to stay for less money.
Wonderful Place

Our stay there this past week was outstanding !!!
The place was so peaceful and serene and our hosts were fantastic :-) The rooms were very clean and comfortable & the view of Lake George from our room was beautiful.

I have to say that, aside from finding the door to the front desk area at the entrance locked on numerous occasions when we needed something (there is limited staff who are out and about), we found the owners(?) and staff to be very hardworking people, very accomodating, and to have a good understanding of what hospitality means. When our TV set died, we informed them and it was switched out (and with a newly-crimped cable connection) quickly. The front desk and marina staff (we rented a reasonably-priced pontoon boat for a fishing expedition) were very courteous and helpful. The rental rate for the pontoon boat was commensurate or cheaper than what I found elsewhere in the area, and it was very convenient ... just walk down from the room to the boats.
The location is great. A lakefront property close enough to, but outside the hustle and bustle of, Lake George Village.
I hope the owners continue upgrading rooms as time and money permit, and wish them success.
