This hotel is really bad. I booked this hotel for its close proximity to the HSBC arena. What a grim mistake. Upon my return from the hockey game I realized that my room was above the hotel bar. A very loud band was in full gear. I asked the front desk to switch me to another room and they refused, stating that the hotel was fully booked. This was at 10:00PM.At 1:30AM the band was still going strong. I again asked the front desk to help me out, to no avail. The customer is really not on the radar at this hotel. Stay elsewhere.

I returned to my room after the hockey game at 10:00PM.To my surprise, my room was over top the hotel bar and a very loud band. I asked to be moved and was denied. “Hotel is fully booked”, I was told. I was assured that I would be called in the event of a vacancy, and in any case the music would end at midnight. By 1:30AM the band was still blaring and I was angry. I called the front desk and again was denied any assistance. Mercifully, the music ended at 2:00AM.In the morning I asked to speak to the manager but he was "unavailable”. Instead I was given a comment card and a pen. Customer service is a low priority at this hotel.

Extremely Disappointed

I recently stayed 3 nights at the Adams Mark in Buffalo, NY.....much to my disgust. The room smelled musty and was dirty, not too mention extremely outdated. The worst part was the mold on the bathroom walls that was apparent under the peeling wallpaper and on the tiles of the tub and around the shower head. My second night the window leaked so bad that the carpet became wet within a 5 ft. radius........geuss that explains the musty smell. My wife told the front desk and was told "all the rooms are leaking." (After a shift change at the front desk we were allowed to change rooms) I have stayed here in the past, even before it was the Adams Mark and it has gone downhill rapidly over the years.

I would never stay at this property again!

We rented the presidential suite at the Adam's Mark Hotel and it was terrible. The decor, the furniture, everything was shabby. There were stains in the carpet. The furniture had tears in the fabric. The bedspread was old and faded. We went outside on the balcony and it was covered in spider webs. The room was either hot or too cold. There were no extra blankets in the room. There was not a refrigerator or a mini-bar in the room. It just not what you'd expect in a "presidential suite". The people were nice. I guess they're doing the best they can with what they have to work with. The lobby looks very nice, but it's very mis-leading. They should spend some money on updating the rooms and the hallways, etc.

Not fancy but meets your basic needs

Our family stayed in this hotel ($55 on Priceline) on the last night of a vacation in this region so that we could catch an early flight out of BUF.

We found the staff friendly and the room comfortable. We ate dinner at the lobby restaurant and the service was great. The rooms feature free high speed internet. There is a parking lot on the property. It took us less than 15 minutes to get to the airport.

The room decor seemed a bit dated, although nothing was worn, and it was reasonably clean. Like other reviewers, we heard a lot of noise from the hallway (we were near the elevator), and if quiet is a priority for you, you might want to request a room further down the hallway and away from the elevators.

All in all, a perfectly functional hotel, not posh, but certainly comfortable.

We stayed here for two nights on a trip to Western New York. After having faced the horror of expensive disasters a few times in the Niagara Falls area, Adam's Mark was a pleasant surprise.

Pros:

1. Overall, the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. You are impressed with the fountains in the front and the beautiful lobby, and that impression carries through your stay.
2. Genuine 3 or 4 Star service. Small things like kitchen open round the clock, indoor pool open till 10 PM, helpful front desk staff and free newspaper added to the experience.
2. Clean, decent-sized, appealing rooms. Clean bathrooms with fixtures that looked new.

Cons:

1. Rooms do not have microwave or fridge. They will give you both if you pay $35 more
2. I am used to free parking at hotels, so I was not impressed with the $6.25 per night parking fee.

I got this hotel in priceline with a bid of $72 (total came to $87 with taxes and Priceline's service charges.) I would definitely stay here next time I am in the year, and would highly recommend it.

Ok for the price

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights on a business trip. I had the government rate of $85 U.S. a night. I would not have wanted to pay more than that. I was a little aprehensive as I had read some of the reviews before going there. The lobby and surrounding areas are quite impressive. The room was clean expect for the cobwebs and 5 spiders that we killed in the room and the tub that wouldn't drain. However, when we mentioned it to the hotel staff, they had someone come and do a thorough vacumming of the window area (where the spiders had been), and the drain was unplugged.

Yes, the hallways can be noisy with people slamming doors, but you get that anywhere. I heard no noise from the adjacent rooms. I would stay there again if need be.

There are a lot of reviewers who have been to weddings at this hotel, and that about sums it up. The weekend we stayed there in mid-August there were two weddings, and several conventions of one kind or another. It has that kind of characterless, functional feeling about it. Yes the staff were friendly, but on holiday one looks for that bit extra. The aircon in our room was noisy, and we had to walk "miles" from the lift to our room. The food in the restaurant was acceptable but nothing special. A place to use whilst visiting the Falls, perhaps, rather than a place to enjoy for itself.

Not impressed

I stayed at the Adam's Mark in Buffalo and was not impressed. The staff was a bit rude and the hotel itself could use some work. The hallway on our floor was extremely stained. It was noisy all night long; with constant doors slamming and people talking. The room was clean, however, for an Adam's Mark, and a basic room, I expected better. To top it off the fire alarm went off in the morning. We were on our way to check out, however, if we hadn't been in the stairwell, we would not have heard the alarm. Next time I'll stay someplace else. Not impressed.

Fire Alarm Wakeup Call and no shuttle

I stayed at the Adams Mark Buffalo for a wedding. Upon arrival at the airport I called for the free shuttle. Was told it would be 40 minutes - driver had just left for the airport (it's ~20 min. one-way). After 3 phone calls and 70+ minutes of waiting I requested reimbursement for a taxi. When I arrived at the hotel they credited my room rate $50 - the best thing about my stay. The room (a double) was rather small but fine except for the sticker stuck to the bathroom floor and only 2 bathtowels for 2 people. Cannot sleep there without earplugs as the rooms have no insulation - can hear your neighbors on the telephone and everyone walking by in the hallway. Was awoken one morning by the fire department setting off unexploded fireworks, and the next morning at 4:00 am by a fire alarm. The alarm turned out to be false but we were not informed of that by the staff - the majority of the guests, including me, had exited by the stairwells. I heard the alarm did not sound on the 3rd floor and I never saw a staff person on any of the floors giving instructions and no hotel announcements - scary what would happen in a real fire as I know lots of folks did not bother to leave their rooms. All in all, a very tiring experience and I would not stay there again.

From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles and surprises. The hotel is beautiful. Makes you feel as if you are in a big city with a staff to match. Everyone with smiles and eager to help. I needed something stored for the night and everyone went out of their way to accomodate me. I really felt as though they were happy I was there.

One night in Buffalo is enough.

Its true, one night in Buffalo is enough! Luckily this hotel is right near the downtown bus terminal so you don't need to find out.

The hotel itself seems very modern and is absolutely huge with a massive conference centre attached. Theres a reasonable sized pool and gym as well as an on site sports bar, which was pretty nice but quiet the night I was there.

My room was a good size but the walls seemed to be paper thin? I could hear all the conversations from rooms either side of me which was a pain. Not sure if this would apply to all the rooms though? Nothing a pair of ear plugs couldn't fix though (essential travelling item surely?). Additionally my room was also by the elevator waiting area, which is never a great location, but it was only one night.

All in all not too bad for a night.

Go and see where it all began... On Main St, about a 15 minute drive away, there is the Anchor Bar and Restaurant, that is where Buffalo Style Chicken Wings were invented. Cute interior and fat, yummy wings are definitely the highlight of Buffalo.
