Heres a Tip about Brooklyn My tip is drive past it as fast as you possibly can without getting arrested for reckless driving....and most of all, DO NOT go to the Golden Gate Motel....you may as well sleep in your damn car, or better yet, in an abandonded cardboard box from a homeless person.....what a flophouse!! You may as well go to Staten Island to this little place that is right over the bridge called the Staten Island Motor Inn.....clean, brand new renovated rooms......a couple of sigarette burns on the bedspread, but after staying at that shithole in brooklyn, i travel with my own blanket now.......i strip the bed, and have my own blanket, since motels dont wash them daily, so who the hell knows what fluids are on them......
far The hotel has no near subway so you need to take a taxi whick will cost you 40 dollars.
you get what you pay for? you get what you pay for? The staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The room was not the worst I've stayed in. It wasn't disgusting but it wasn't clean. We went out and bought Febreeze anti-microbial and a scented candle and cleaned up the bathroom. The bed was pretty good. The sheets were clean and the bed didn t smell. The mattress was firm. The TV had sound but no picture. In their defense, we were too tired to contact the front desk to resolve the issue. The worst things, I would say, were the bathroom and the smell when we arrived (resolved with some cleaning, Febreeze and candle). Oh yeah, you can not control the air-conditioning and it isn't enough to cool the room, but the window does open. The best part was that the sheets were clean and the staff were very nice. We won't stay here again.
