We loved every minute of our stay. The room was wonderful and alll the staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable, especially the doormen! We plan to go back sometime in the future.

Just returned from this resort and have to say that it was the best! Room was very clean with a view of the bay and pool, and within walking distance of downtown Alexandria Bay. Highly recommend restaurant on first floor for breakfast (strawberry stuffed french toast!). Staff extremely friendly and helpful and seem to really like what they do. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

I Love It At The Riveredge I Have Been Going There Since I Was 2 Weeks Old. We Go Every Summer And I Cant Wait To Bring My Children There When I Get Older. I Have Many Great Memories Of This Place And Not Even 1 Bad 1. trust me You Will Love It There!!!!!!

We stayed at the Riveredge Resort Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was clean, we had friendly service. and the meals were great! We were treated like family. I highly recommend this place.

After reading on-line reviews of the Riveredge Resort I almost cancelled my reservations. I am glad that I decided to judge for myself. The resort was wonderful. The staff was friendly, service was great and my two very young children enjoyed there stay. The staff even recommended places of interest and events for our family. We will definitely be back next year.
Not Customer Oriented

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were treated rudely. Check In was an impostion upon the employee behind the desk. The room was dirty and still had dirty dishes from the last person that stayed there. When we called the front desk, we were told the room had already been cleaned and we would have to wait until the next day. Entertainment in the lounge was awful. Someone in the lounge told us the couple was a relation to the owner. Very pricey for the poor service and rude treatment. We have also complained to AAA because this hotel does not deserve the 4 Star rating that it has.

we got a jacuzzi suit with a broken jacuzzi.we didn't have a remote for the t.v..we were promised a chocolate strawberries on our pillow, nothing. bar service was terrable , no fingerfoods ware many were promised. No intertainment to speak of. No HOT WATER!!!! We were expected a 5 star hotel and ended up at a brokendown super8.

The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was great. The food was sumptious. The view was outstanding. We were there for a convention from September 8-12. My wife and I will definately be back!

This is the best place my wife and I have stayed. We would go to the Pocano's every year but not anymore. We found a place much closer and much more better. This will be the "yearly" trip from now on. The rooms are so clean and spaciouse. The staff cares; their attention to detail, helpfulness and being so nice all the time. They treat you like a King and Queen no matter what they do for you. They are a credit to management. I like to eat and the restaurants offer so many choices no matter what mood we are in; relaxed or high style. The Riveredge Resort is just what it says it is; a resort to relaxe, have fun or high style.

My wife an I stayed two nights in a channelview room that looked towards the beautiful Boldt castle on Heart Island. Our room was on the second floor above the Windows-on-the-bay restaurant but you would never know it. Our room was very nicely appointed but for the price it could of been bigger, we had two twin beds in the room, a single king or queen bed would of been better. Each room has a small balcony that you can sit out on but they're not very private. The hotel is adjacent to the Uncle Sam Boat tours and it was very interesting to watch their boats come & go. The hotel is only a short walk to the business district where there are numerous gift shops, restaurants, pubs etc. We were there mid-October and a lot of the businesses had already closed for the season. The front desk & bell staff was very friendly & curtious, especially the Windows-on-the-Bay staff (Thank-you Bob, Tim, Amanda & Amanda). We ate breakfast & dinner there and they were both very good. The weekend rate for our room was a little pricy but the weekday rate was more comparable. We both enjoyed our brief stay there and would stay there again if we were to visit the 1000 islands area.
Top Local Tips for Alexandria Bay
Boldt Castle Boldt Castle makes for an interesting day trip. Located right across the river from Alexandria Bay on Heart Island, it is a fairytale castle with a very sad history. Perfect place for a picnic....make sure you pack drinks and snacks as the concessions are expensive. Keep in mind that you have to pay for the boat ride to the castle AND $6.00 to enter the grounds. But it's a fun place to spend a couple of hours.
The only reason to come..... If you need a place to dock your boat, rent a boat, or want easy access to the tour boats so you can get to Boldt Castle and tthe other 1000 islands in the summer, then Alex bay is an excellent spot. Otherwise it's a ramshackle, dingy, over-priced tourist trap. Clayton, about 12 miles west, turned out to be a much prettier town.
Take the Boat Ride The Alex Bay area is beautiful. A trip on the Uncle Sam Cruise is a must. Plan on spendin a few hours at the Castle and even plan time for the boat house, it will be well worth it. If you like shopping, the town has some cute shops, filled with all the tourists things, always on sale in September. There are some finer shops 8 miles away in Clayton, NY and you can also visit River Rat Cheese, YUM YUM.
