We stayed 1 night at the Boardwalk for a wedding at the Edgewood resort. Cab ride between the two took less than 10 minutes. We stayed in a cabin at the Boardwalk, too. The cabin was cute and private. The room was newly carpeted and had everything we needed. A large group of us were staying at the Boardwalk that night and we continue the party outside until about 2:30 and then they politely asked us to move into our rooms, at which point most people went to bed. I wouldn't quite call the place a resort, but it was definitely an adequate motel. I would stay there again. Especially because they allow you to stay only 1 night during peak season.

We have been going to the Boardwalk Resort / Motel for over eleven years, we go there twice a year, July and September. The place has a beautiful pool and deck and you can fish from there and cook on the grills. It also has a great owner, Frank. So the rooms do slant a bit--no big deal. The best rooms are the King Suite and the one with the little balcony. You can kick off your shoes and relax and enjoy the pool and the sun without STUFFINESS of a ten star grande hotel.
The sheets and towels are clean, and you are amply provided with extra towels and sheets as you need. The owner, Frank, does whatever he can to make your stay comfortable.
AND......
...the FREE COFFEE in the morning (AT THE OFFICE) is absolutely wonderful!!! Coffee rating: 10 STARS!

I was a little leery of the place as soon as I saw it. The building did not look very solid. The pool was ok, although it's still too early in the season for swimming. But upon opening the door to the room, my heart sank. It was awful. I don't know what was worst - the dank, musty smell; the not-very clean appearance; the plywood over the back of the door; or the bathroom where I certainly wouldn't stand barefoot in the shower. I can't comment on the comfort of the bed since we requested that any charges be cancelled & we looked for another place. We ended up at the Riveredge which was lovely.

The pictures on the internet are only from the outside, we pulled into the parking lot and thought this looks nice. There was a nice pool, a large deck with a very nice view of Boldt Castle in the background......However...........
You pay for your room get your luggage and then you open the door to your room, and you may want to turn around get in your car and not look back.
I was not looking for 5 Star accomodations here, I just wanted a clean room and clean bedding.
First sight of my room is "Oh My", then I check to make sure the sheets and blankets are clean, The sheets looked clean but the blanket was disgusting. There was some nasty spots all over it. I thought well at least the sheets are clean, I brought my own pillows, I just wont cover up with anything else.
I look down by the side of the bed and I can see the Bay. Yes from my room, the floor that is. There is 1" gap between the floor and walls so you get a bayside view and can share your room with whatever decides to crawl in there with you. Let me tell you I slept (what little I got) with the lights on, one eye open and no blankets and I got to pay $116 plus taxes for this luxury poolside room.
I checked out early and found a hotel we stayed at 12 yeas ago. We finished our vacation at "Hills Motor Court" and were very pleased with our rooms there.

We spent three days of our week long road trip at Alexandria Bay (my kids are 10 & 15). I was looking for an affordable place to stay and my kids were looking for a pool. I found the Boardwalk Motel on the internet, but there were no reviews to go by so all I had was the information they provided on their web site. When we pulled into the parking lot we were not disappointed. There indeed was a nice pool surrounded by a large deck with a very nice view of Boldt Castle in the background. The room, however, was a different picture. Immediately when we opened the front door and stepped inside, we knew there was something very wrong with the room. I almost lost my balance when I walked across the room. We had to prop something behind the door to keep it from slamming into the wall everytime we opened it. The whole building apparently had shifted 6-8 inches(into the bay I'm assuming). The bathroom was a handyman's nightmare. And apparently talented handymen are hard to find. Instead of repairing the cracks and damage properly, they simply smeared drywall mud over the defects and figured that was good enough. I turned the shower on just to make sure it worked and there was no cold water. All I got was scalding hot water from both faucets. Then I couldn't get them to turn off. The knobs were stripped or something and it took my son 10 minutes to shut it off. We went ahead and unpacked our things figuring we would spend very little time in the room anyway. But one night was all we could take. I went to the motel office and asked for another room and they were kind enough to give us the room next door. Pretty much the same room only this one had a working shower AND a small refrigerator in the room so we took it. We tried to laugh it off...we joked about the obvious slant to the room and the fact that we could see the GROUND between the wall and the floor while sitting on the toilet! We thought that was the best. And the fact that they knew there were FOUR of us in the room, but only TWO towels provided each day. I guess we were expected to share. We had to walk to the office (across the parking lot) in order to get more. The beds. Oh boy. We might as well have slept on the floor...or for that matter been camping out on the ground. I realize you 'get what you pay for' these days but I think $100/night is fair exchange for a comfortable bed, a working shower, and clean towels. I'm not sure what "bed bugs" really are, but I'm guessing those mattresses were infested with them because we had little red bug bites all over our ankles and feet and they weren't from mosquitos. Needless to say, we couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. Luckily, we are use to 'roughing it' so we didn't let this ruin our vacation. But I feel it is only fair to warn other vacationers that they might want to choose another motel. Or at least ask to SEE your room before you pay. I don't imagine this motel will be standing much longer considering it is falling over. Hopefully there are no occupants inside when it finally bites the dust!
