Very Good Hotel For Santa Fe.........

from leenie
We stayed here in Dec. 2004, & I agree with the previous posts. This is a very nice, quaint hotel. The rooms are furnished comfortably & the corner fireplaces are a very nice touch. The breakfast each morning is very good, & the afternoon wine & cheese gathering was also enjoyable. In typical Santa Fe tradition, the buildings are 2 story Adobe, & the location can't be beat.

That being said, if we return to Santa Fe I would stay here again, but you will not find some things that would be available in other cities/hotels. The bathrooms are very small & basic, with a tiny tub/shower. There is no restaurant on site, therefore no room service (although they will deliver breakfast to you for a fee). Also do not expect a view of any kind from your room. But for this city this hotel is as good as it gets.

Anyone who visits Santa Fe should also not miss the Ten Thousand Waves spa, about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. You can rent awesome private hot tubs overlooking the mountains, & follow it up with massage treatments. A very unique and enjoyable experience I have not seen elsewhere.

Cozy small hotel

We stayed at the Inn in December 2004. The staff was wonderful and attentive, the fireplaces in the lobby were inviting, breakfast each morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon - can't be beat! The location near the Canyon Road and the main plaza add to the value.

Perfect getaway hotel

Four friends and I had a wonderful time staying at the Inn on the Alameda during our "girls weekend" away. The staff was gracious and accomodating (especially Charlie in the bar). The rooms were clean and inviting, and we liked the herbal bath products. The continental breakfast was terrific, with many interesting and tasty choices. The wine and cheese around the fireplace was a welcome highlight after a day of touring. The Inn was considerably less expensive than many of Santa Fe's other luxury hotels, but we sacrificed nothing in terms of comfort. The gym was a bit small and crowded, but it is one of the few hotels in Santa Fe that has any gym at all. The location is terrific; right at the bottom of Canyon Road and two blocks from the Plaza. We would all HIGHLY recommend staying at this charming hotel.

A Quiet, Relaxing Place

from DanaRae60
We just got back from a three day, two night stay at this lovely property. I have been to Santa Fe many times before and have never found a hotel I really loved. Well, I have now. The staff was very professional. We had a suite in the Sanchez casitas and our room consisted of a living room with a fireplace, wet bar etc. The separate bedroom had an incredibly comfy bed with a private patio with chairs etc. The bathroom was nothing too special, but the tub was large enough to stretch out in which is nice after a long day of walking the Plaza. The complementary breakfast was above average and had lots to choose from, the ham & green chili frittada was a favorite. We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was incredibly quiet even though there were guests on either side of us, we didn't hear ANYTHING, which is rare at any hotel. We will be back and the Inn on The Alameda will be our destination in Santa Fe from now on.

Great Place in Santa Fe

Stayed here 3 nights for a family wedding. First, the staff was extremely helpful in coordinating 6 rooms for various family members several months before our arrival. Once we got there, all of the rooms were as-promised, and even better than we had expected. The property is well laid out and the rooms nicely appointed with furnishings and amenities. My king room was huge and included a fireplace and patio. The two-room suites also had plenty of space. The 2-queen bed rooms in what appeared to be the older part of the hotel were smaller and a bit more cramped than mine, but no worse than the size of a standard hotel room. Complimentary hot breakfast every morning, and wine bar in the late afternoon. Found the staff extremely accomodating and helpful with sightseeing tips, local amenities, etc. throughout the stay. The front desk staff even spent 30 minutes trying to nail down massage appointments at other hotels for us, since theirs was booked. Highly recommend a stay here on your visit.

Everything I Hoped For

from LisaSanDiego_CA
My husband and I took both sets of parents and spent a week in October 04 at the inn. Because we are all different types of people, with different interests in quiet, activity, food, room amenities, surrounding activities, etc., the inn had quite a bill to fill to satisfy all needs well. And it did so superbly. From the numerous phone calls before the visit to ensure that the three suites chosen were just right for the occupants (one more secluded, with two fireplaces for the couple that operates on different time zones; one with the most beautiful and new bath; one in the most traditional part of the grounds) to the management response when there was a problem with a fireplace--the inn came through with flying colors. Comfortable, quietly elegant, perfectly located, good quality wine and nice cheese/bread during the complimentary wine and cheese hour, accommodating and cheerful staff, spotless rooms, excellent pillows and comfortable chairs/couches, generous breakfasts--this inn has and does it all. My only request would be for stronger coffee in the public pots--but that was easily overcome by making coffee in the room. Try this inn. It's true to the advertisements.

LOVED IT!

from Pepperamanda
Thanks to this web-site I confidently reserved a room at this hotel on July 28 and 29, 2004. Don't look for much of a big place, but this is cozy and quaint. Outside our room, we were in #201 that overlooked courtyard that lead to the lobby area, there was walkways that were landscaped beautifully. A bit pricy for me, but for Sante Fe, I guess it was okay. Our room was clean, with wooden mini blinds on window (that opens!), and patio door to balcony. A previous reviewer on this website was correct though about TINY BALCONY, not for those wanting to relax our there too long, small t.v., dark bathroom, although clean and had a skylight. Floor level rooms by the wooden saint and small fountain looked really interesting. People sat outside their rooms and seemed to have alot of room to relax. I would consider staying in one of those next time. Wine and cheese was just right and breakfast buffet...FABULOUS. Hot croissants with different meats inside, two types of quiches and everything else that usually comes with others.

GREAT LOCATION...walked to everything. Creek across the street was dry though, but you pass it to go up Canyon Road which is right there. Plaza just a few short interesting and beautiful blocks away.

Ate at Guardunos near Plaza which had the best complimentary hot Sopapillas (sorry spelling) with honey to drizzle on top, Yum!

INNS FRONT DESK STAFF WAS GREAT TOO! DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY AT LEAST ONCE!

Liked the Inn on the Alameda

The staff was helpful and friendly, the breakfast was terrific, the afternoon wine and cheese was first class and the room was spacious and clean. On top of that its a short walk out of the commercial center of Sante Fe which is overburdened with shops and tourists. Its more like a B&B than a hotel. Its steps away from the lovely galleries of Canyon Road. We will stay here on our next visit.

We loved this hotel. The bedding was high quality and the amenities were wonderful. The staff was very nice and helpful with directions and dinner suggestions.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful. A wide variety of things from fruit to sweets. One of the best that I have had in years.

Perfect location - we loved our stay.

We recently returned to the Inn of the Alameda after first staying there years ago when it first opened as a new small Santa Fe inn.

It's grown and added more rooms along East Alameda and now offers several types of accommodations from standard to some very spacious 1 bedroom suites. The inn has a spa and fitness room. Several courtyards add to the lovely surroundings. And we were happy to know there was a guest laundry located on property. Best of all, with all these new additions and more room choices, it still has the same wonderful personalized atmosphere.

We stayed in one of the Sanchez Suites which had a separate living area and bedroom with small private courtyard in the back and a porch in the front. The king bed was quite comfortable and we enjoyed the Kiva fireplace even in May!

A bountiful breakfast buffet was served each morning with juices, pastries, cereals, fruit, and egg dishes -- great way to start the day from the inn's perfect location between the Plaza and Canyon Road. We could also easily walk to many of the restaurants such as the Pink Adobe and Guadalupe Cafe (which can be quite a distance from some hotels on the north side of the Plaza). The staff happily made dinner reservations for us several times and proved very helpful with any questions we had.

We plan to stay there again on our next visit!

Top Local Tips for Santa Fe

Indian Ruins A little less than an hour from Santa Fe is Bandelier National Monument, with its many miles of hiking trails, forest, Indian Ruins, petroglyphs and pictographs, waterfalls.

Margarita's Get a cab for 7$ and have ALL the Margarita's you can drink at Maria's

Walking tour We spent the first morning on a walking tour called Aboot About. We spent 2+ hours touring the Plaza and adjacent areas and learned a lot of history of the area and its people. I highly recommended this as a way of learning about the city. The cost was only $10 a person. There are brochures at the hotels for the group
