Best Mexican Restaurant - Martin's Capitol Cafe Saw ad in the Ramada guide in our room, as we pulled up we asked a family leaving if it was any good. They said they were locals and it is the best in Roswell. New Mexico is known for chiles, and this place featured them in some standard mexican fare. Complimentary chips and salsa, very good. Small plate of nachos was a good size, probably a 10" oval plate, piled high, and sufficient for a meal. Excellent corn dog off the kids menu, as far as corn dogs go. Enchiladas were very good. Stuffed sopapilla was good, but probably would have been better with chicken rather than beef. Two adults, two small children, two beers, for $35+tip. Sevice was very good.

Go to the Red Onion for breakfast The hotel staff recommended the Red Onion for breakfast. We went and were very pleased. It's a family run mexican restaurant. They had an all you can eat breakfast buffet with pancakes, hash browns, french toast, scrambled eggs, chilaquiles, papas con chorizo, biscuits and gravy and more. My brother ordered the carne asada breakfast which had tender pieces of pork in a red chile sauce (almost like carne adovada) it came with 2 eggs, beans and hashbrowns and boy was it delicious. My boyfriend and I had the buffet and really enjoyed it. The staff was warm, friendly and funny. It was a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone.
