t mind bad staff..
from Wendy76I must say that the staff on the day we checked in were
great. They first assigned us to the wrong room but quickly made it right. We got great service and food in the restaraunt as well. Thank you to the guys in the restaurant. Everything was perfect! I was going to highly recommend when I went to bed at 9 pm... but then our neighbors checked in.
Five men moved into the room next to us and had an all night poker party. There was yelling, profanity, etc. They ordered pizza, and had their girlfriends over from the nightclub. I called the front desk twice. Others called too because I could hear security stop by their room. The men just thought that was funny. The hotel did nothing. I was suprised because we were in rooms directly behind the front desk.
The next morning the bill from the other room was out in the hall so I could see all the man's personal information as well as his rate which was much lower than ours. (What happened to confidentiality?) I guess we paid $47 extra so he could keep us up all night. My 11 month old daughter luckily slept through most of it, thank goodness. The front desk staff the next morning did not care, did not apologize, and said that we should have asked to be moved. I should move my quiet family with baby because they can't get the others to shut up? It's too bad but we will never stay there again. This never happened when it was a Hilton.
Hotel Encanto is nearly excellent

from Jen827Overall I really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely stay there again. The rates are very reasonable for that quality of hotel, and we were in town for a funeral and they did offer a discounted bereavement rate if you call and ask.
Changing hands
from Rudolph2In dire need of a renovation
from Addicated_to_SBHHilton should pull the franchise(This is not Hilton quality)
from A TripAdvisor MemberHowever, there was a birthday party of about 20 children on one night in the pool area, the birthday child said that his dad was remodeling the hotel and that he (the child) was living there. I guess that is initially why I did not have my requested poolside room as they were in a pool side room.
Screens were falling down onto the patios below and its just a coincendence that we were not sitting there, and hit. The extra Hilton touches are definately not at this hotel.
Double beds in room not queens, definately not Hilton bedding and accessories.
I know why they will no longer be affialiated with Hilton. An allright Hotel, just know it's not a Hilton.
Pretty Good Stay
from Hoosier40GirlMy only complaint was breakfast. The danish on the continental breakfast was stale. Breakfast was the only meal we ate at the hotel, so I don't know about the food at other times of the day.
I found this hotel to be a pleasant surprise considering some of the past reviews on it. Our bathroom appeared to have been updated, so maybe the hotel is in the process of renovations or have completed the renovations. We will stay here again on future trips through the area.
s Era is Back!
from RezaDuI was flabberghasted as to how shoddy this hotel is. Light bulbs burned out, hallways are dark, carpet in common areas and rooms are in desparate need of replacement (I thought I was going to see shag carpets), holes in walls, floor tiles in bathrooms had mold everywhere, shower head didn't work (it took me just five minutes under the water to get wet), bed spreads were old and smelled, sheets were old, furniture was run down, and they did not have a business center. The hotel is badly in need of a complete overhaul, renovation, and remodeling.
I'm not very picky but I just need a clean and new hotel room. This isn't it. The Fairfield Inn or better yet, Motel 6 would serve you better. Both have been built within the last year.
Okay Hotel
from pgiovingoTop Local Tips for Las Cruces
Las Cruces Amazing time at White Sands National Park!! It is a sight to behold! A dining tip....Lorenzo's Italiian supposedly rated # 1 in Las Cruces. Well, not so much. Not good at all. The meatballs were so sweet we thought they were made with Gummy Bears. If you are an east coaster or anyone who enjoys Italiian food this is a huge disappointment . Las Cruces really could use an Olive Garden!
Mexican food, mexican food everywhere! You'd be missing a major part of your trip out west if you didn't try some of the local mexican favorites. In new mexico, it's all about the green chilie. The two best restaurants in town are La Posta de Mesilla in old town and Si Senor. Both are good and *any* local knows exactly how to get to either. Both restaurants are not expensive, but delicious.
Parking Parking in Las Cruces if free. San Diego is not
