Good deal for the price!

from warmweatherfriend
The Nativo Lodge has a great location with the view of the Sandia Mountains, close to all sights & restaurants, right next door to a Starbucks, and easily accessible to Interstate 25. The indoor/outdoor pool combination is a great feature for children along with the hot tub and changing rooms with sauna & work out room for the adults all within the same space. I didn't know when I made the reservation that this hotel permitted pets so I was a little surprised when we had 4 small BARKING dogs across the hallway the first night! If the neighbors weren't leaving soon, we would have asked to change rooms because the barking began very early am and would continue every time someone walked up & down the hallway. We were next to a soda machine & ice machine so people frequented this hallway! However, the staff was very friendly, the Spririt Winds Cafe was a nice addition as our room cost included a breakfast buffet each morning. On the negative side, there is no fan in the bathroom which became so hot that we each had to leave the bathroom door open while showering. And, we arranged months in advance for a small fridge to be in our room for the week's stay and we finally got it on the 3rd day. After knowing all the ins & outs, I would stay here again and recommend it for families. Ask for a view of the mountains!!!

Nice visit

The hotel décor was very southwest with an artsy twist – which we liked. The rooms were also beautifully decorated. And the beds were a dream! We didn’t care for the coffee pot in the room, but the nice people in the restaurant gladly gave us a carafe of coffee to take up to the room. We felt that the restaurant was a bit pricey, but there are plenty of restaurants that are close for breakfast.

Not your usual hotel

The decor is very well done, the rooms are large, the beds very comfortable. For the AAA price, a very good value. The breafast buffet is excellent, although the restaruant could be better lit.

Interesting Decor, Get a room facing away from freeway

Nativo has very interesting decor, friendly service and overall clean rooms. The beds are plush, but the suede-like coverlets are very heavy. In a party of 6 in 3 separate rooms, 4 out of the 6 felt the coverlets were too heavy and exhausting to sleep under. Rooms facing the freeway (west) are noisy because the windows are not sound proof. If noise is a problem for you, request rooms facing east away from the freeway. The breakfasts are fair in a buffet setting-much more elaborate than the typical continental breakfast. We did not eat other than the breakfast so can not evaluate other fare. The hotel is located near some shopping and a coffee shop, but the roads are not pedestrian-friendly to get there. No sidewalk or shoulder on the road. Overall, if you are staying a night or two, it is not a bad place. I would not particularly stay for an extended visit because of its location some distance from the center of the touristy attractions. On the other hand, such a location might be a plus for those seeking to be away from the touristy attractions.

enjoyable visit

Enjoyed the decor and comfortable furnishings at this hotel. Unfortunately, there was a wedding reception at the hotel the night of my stay, and the occupants of neighboring rooms were less than considerate with slamming doors late into the night. I thought the value for the money was excellent, and the location was close to many restaurants and stores. I would gladly stay here again. My only complaint is that there was an extra charge for Internet connectivity, which I believe in this day and age should be available free of charge in every hotel.

Checked in- must have a Credit Card- company trip so I had to leave a $50.00 cash deposit.
No phone, remote or lamp shades in the room. Took 2 days to get a phone. The bed was the BEST I have ever slept on in a hotel. The dining room service could use A LOT of improvement. Overall it's an okay place to stay.

Loved Novato Lodge

Great Place to stay. Close to freeway and Starbucks. Clean, very nice atmosphere, great art, soothing to the spirit, friendly service. Elevator slow and highspeed internet was not effective. Extremely nice Native American/Modern decor.

Very Nice Hotel

We stayed at Nativo two nights recently and found it to be a very pleasant hotel. It has very colorful decor, excellent beds and a good location. We would definitely stay there again.

t walk, get a better deal elsewhere

While on vacation, I prefer to sleep in until at least 10:00 AM. We had problems with the maid service vacuuming in the hallway between 8 and 9 AM and then they proceeded on several mornings to knock on our door to clean our room (sometime before 10 AM). The last time I checked the checkout time was Noon so they shouldn't even think of replenishing or cleaning ANY rooms before then. There are no privacy signs of any sort to put on the doors. My husband attempted to make a sign out of a piece of paper and put it on the door. We then had heathen children knocking on our door and running up and down the hall for a few hours until we took it down.

There were obvious signs of dirt/smudges (and who knows what else) on things like wallplates, countertops, the phone. The shower was even a little on the moldy side. There was debris and leaves floating in the indoor/outdoor pool that could have easily been skimmed off.

I've traveled a lot in my day and I'm not all that picky. I just look for a restful place that is clean. This place was neither.

I got a special internet discount on the room which ran about $60. Put it towards a nice room at the Holiday Inn...I've had better luck there.

Great Beds!!!!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed for 3 night in September 2005. The beds were the best that I have ever slept in at a hotel. The room's were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing that wasn't good was the one elevator to service everyone but it wasn't bad enough to keep me from staying there again.

Top Local Tips for Albuquerque

The Albuquereque Zoo is Awesome! I was pleasently surprised! The zoo is beautiful with waterfalls & big trees! Very nice exhibits, eateries, & shops. It's kind of hard to find, not a lot of signs but worth finding! Get good directions.

Driving NE ABQ is very busy, be prepared to make lots of U turns. It is a city with many roads that seem to end without warning Regarding rental cars; fill up before you turn in your car. The airport is right there so go down University Blvd if you have time to fill up the gas tank.

N.A. Sales Meeting Great views and casino's
