Not Happy with Embassy Suites ABQ

Family and I rented the room for the weekend. When we got there we wanted to relax and take out 2 year olds swimming BUT we were unable to swim because of a Birthday Swim Party!!! there had to have been 30 + kids in the pool attending this party. The Birthday girls family WERE NOT guests of the hotel!!! And the next morning we went down for breakfeast at 10:17 of course i understand the chefs close down at 10:30 BUT on the buffet line there was NO FOOD so i asked if they were gonna put out more potatoes and was told NO! what was i gonna feed my boys? at least serve and have FOOD till 10:30am we did PAY good money to rent a room.
I asked management to call me about this and till this day i have yet to get a call.

Extremely nice

This place opened up in April 05 and everything is splendid new. This is a very nice hotel with extremely spacious suites. I guess I’ve never had a hotel with such spacious, affordable rooms before. The suite consists of 2 rooms + bath and has lots of extras you would expect from a hotel at this price, including small kitchen + indoor safe. There is free parking, a very good breakfast buffet and even an evening reception with free beverages + snacks. Staff is extremely nice. Unfortunately we had a room facing the highway but noise-reduction works very well so you don’t hear it. We didn’t hear any noise from other rooms or hallway, neither. You cannot open the windows what I generally don’t like but the air conditioning in the room is new, modern and quiet so that’s no problem here. I can recommend this place and would definitely choose it again.

Beautiful Hotel

I stayed Sept 29-Oct 2. The hotel is brand new. The rooms are spotless. The staff is young and welcoming. They will do just about anything to help. The breakfast is great, with the exception of cold potatoes one morning. The exercise room has two elipticals, two treadmills, one or two bikes and free weights. The pool is small but pretty. When I was there the hotel was very busy as it was the balloon festival, but they handled the crowd well. The beds are really comfortable.

The Best In Albuquerque?

It probably is currently the best in Albuquerque. It does have the best hotel breakfast and exercise equipment. But, what does that say about lodging in the largest city in NM? Price per night is also the highest in town at a little bit over $145 with taxes. I think the best buy might be the Club House Inn, near downtown. Breakfast and cocktail hour on a weekend rate of $59

Adequate to good

We picked this hotel because it is very convenient for the airport and after a long days travelling from the UK we wanted good, spacious accomodation. Basically we were not disappointed but there are some reservations. There was no luggage cart to help us transport our cases, and we had to struggle with them to the elevators ourselves. Check-in was trouble-free. We had paid a little extra for the Corner Suites, and while they were very well appointed they were not as large as we had been expecting. This Corner Suite was what I would have expected from a standard suite at this hotel. I also felt that there were too many pieces of furniture and appliences crammed into the room. But I could not fault the amenities or facilities, the bed was comfortable and large and the bathroom was well appointed.
Breakfast was very good, with tasty cooked items prepared quickly and a good variety of cereals, fruits etc. Highly recommended.
We asked for some directions from the Front Desk, but while they did not mean to be unhelpful, they should have tried a bit harder.
I should be more enthusiatic about this hotel, and I am not sure what it is that I felt lacking. Its new, well appointed and pleasant. I think it is because it is anonymous and lacks character. I should have been more satisfied with my stay than I was, but it was expensive compared to other hotels in the area and perhaps everyone involved could try a little harder. It will not disappoint from an amenity point of view however, and I would not hesitate to recommend it, but thses suite hotels in general seem to be gradually losing the suite content of the accomodation!

The Best Embassy Suites

We have stayed at several Embassy Suites Hotels and this was -BY FAR- the best. The bed were amazingly comfortable and everything was so pretty! The Lobby was buetiful and everything was great. The buffet in the morning (included in room cost) was excellent. It included order your own fresh omlette, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee, chocolate milk, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and tons more! So much better than a continental breakfast. The pool and workout cneter was great! The rooms were clean and so pretty. The decoration was absolutly wonderful and the hotel even has a spa! We enjoyed a GREAT stay!

Great value spacious, comfortable rooms

We were travelling around the southwest and this was one of the best places on our stay regarding value for money ($109+tax). Our suite had an area with dining table, sofa & TV and then the bedroom which had a wonderful king bed-so comfortable and a view over the City. There is a microwave and coffee maker. We had room service twice, which was fine (the sandwiches were much better value than the 'specials'). As a couple, we weren't keen on the atrium as it was very busy with no ambience, but it seemed a great place for families and there were free drinks & snacks in the evening. There is a gym and pool and outside sun deck.

Great value for the money

We paid $109 for our one-bedroom suite during the last week of August (2005). The lobby was more upscale than we’d expected from an Embassy Suites—the atrium felt like a Hyatt. The breakfast buffet included fresh Krispy Kreme donuts but only if you arrived before 7:30 am, and short order cooks were preparing hearty egg breakfasts. There was also fresh fruit and cereals for lighter diners. Since Albuquerque was just a one-night stop on a road-trip, the highway-side location was very convenient, however there was not much to do in the immediate neighborhood as far as restaurants, shops, or attractions are concerned.

Fabulous New Embassy Suites Hotel

We stayed one night at the new Embassy Suites Hotel in Albuquerque after nearly a week in Santa Fe. The hotel decor and amenities are fabulous and the rooms are lovely. Perfect way to end our stay in the Southwest. Breakfast was excellent...the blueberry pancakes cooked to order were the best! There is a spa, gym, business center, and coffee shop on the premises. We would definitely stay there again!

Top Local Tips for Albuquerque

Work up a sweat Looking to get in a few miles of running while visiting ABQ but don't know where to go? I didn't, but discovered the Albuquerque Running Shop (up in a shopping center at Montgomery and Tramway), where the owners sponsor easy runs around town a couple times a week. They welcome all ages and abilities (on a Saturday morning, store owners Randy and John split those who'd showed up into a couple groups, which worked out well). rent a car Cabs are not easy to find here and things are very spread out. A car is a good idea.

Don't miss the Zoo, Aquarium and Bio-Park!!! Purchase the combo ticket at the Aquarium and take the free train to the Zoo.
