The worse three-star hotel I have ever stayed

from Ann08xf
This hotel is definitely not qualified for a three-star hotel. The space in the room is small; the closet is open closet without a door; and the staff is not helpful. I will not stay in this hotel again.

Decent stay

from Member3
Overall, a pretty good Doubletree. Parking is easy, the cookies & Neutrogena bath products were nice. As a Hilton Honors Gold member, I was upgraded to the concierge level. The lounge was surprisingly unused. The woman staffing the lounge was telling a friend that the poor economy had hit the hotel very hard. She was very friendly and pointed out the complimentary hors d'oeurvres & drinks. My only complaint about the lounge is that there are no tables at which to comfortably sit. You'd perch your plate on your lap and put your drink on the small table next to the chair. This is especially trying at breakfast.

The room was clean and the hotel is attractively located on Route 1. I would stay here again.

Nothing was a problem- friendly and generous toward guests

from farawaymum
This hotels is really doing a good job ensuring that the staff have a great attitude. They have a shuttle to any place nearby that you need. This was extremely convenient and also flexible- when I called to be picked up earlier than the prearranged time , they came to get me, no problem at all.
My room was on the top floor- nice decor and comfortable- flat screen TV , no noise heard between rooms.I had 2 meals in the "On the Bone" restauant within the hotel- both were excellent. Breakfast was standard Doubletree, but very acceptable. Free Wi FI in the lobby , plus computers in the business centre. I did'nt use the indoor pool but it looked very nice.
Well done to the management here. Other Doubletree's could learn from you.

Friendly staff--hotel is OK

from Andlovingit
*Room was clean, up-to-date and in good order
*Common areas are a little tired (e.g., elevators) and color scheme of hallways is not 21st century (rooms are better)
*Free chocolate chip cookies upon arrival were excellent AND MUCH APPRECIATED
*Very good value proposition for the neighborhood--no breakfast is included
*Business center's free online access was appreciated
*Overall, hotel is not as nice as some of its newer competitors in the area, but this fact was reflected in the price, which was very competitive--we were quite satisfied

Short but nice stay at the Doubletree

from fenwayman
I had a very quick stay at the Doubletree as part of a roving business trip: I checked in around 8 PM and left around 8 AM. So I can only evaluate a bit of the service, and the restaurant for breakfast.

It was a good stay. The check-in clerk was very friendly and helpful, and took extra time to figure out how to fix a Hilton Honors points related issue in my profile. The room was clean and even though I could see Rt. 1 from it (it was about 500 feet from Rt. 1) it was one of the quieter rooms I have been in. I had to shut off the heating unit as it was really loud. Luckily I did not need it. The bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower.

Breakfast was excellent. I enjoy breakfast buffets and they did a very good job, and the service was great (though honestly: I was the only one there for the entire time).

Check-out was efficient.

The hotel is on Rt. 1 about a mile from Forrestal Village, where there are some restaurants and shops. But it's somewhat isolated from hot-spots. Although the address is Rt. 1, I entered the parking lot on Ridge Rd. Not sure if you can enter from Rt. 1 and if you cannot, you'd have to drive past the hotel, and do two U-turns to get back to it.

There were two things that could have been better. The elevators were very slow. I was staying on the second floor and it took a long time (comparatively) to get from the first to the second floor. The stairwells were not easy to find. Also, the hotel layout has lots of turns and I kept ending up at the wrong end of the hall. Minor concerns.

I'd stay here again. There are a lot of nice hotels in that area and this one is among them

Dear Guest,
On behalf of the entire staff thank you very much for your time and constructive feedback. We are constantly striving to improve our hotel and your observations are most welcome. We are working to improve our in-house signage and hope to have that completed in the near future. Secondly, there is an entrance to the hotel from Route 1 (southbound side), and that is what we recommend versus entering from Ridge Road. Thanks again for your comments, and we look forward to welcoming you again whenever your travel plans inlude the Princeton area.

Pleasureable experience at the DoubleTree

from Rackoff493
I stayed at the Double Tree for a concert in Trenton since I heard you do not want to stay in Trenton. When I got to the hotel parking was easy and the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. I booked the Memory Maker Weekend room for 79 dollars which included free continental breakfast for 4 (even though we were only 2).

The room was nicely appointed, not anything extravagant but comfortable. They even called to ask how the room was and if they could do anything to make it better. Only problem I could see with the room is the lamp plug was half in and half out with would create problems for little children but we were adults and we know not to touch that.

Everything was clean and neatly done by Aida (housekeepers name, we know since it said "room cleaned by Aida")

We drove to Princeton during the afternoon which is about 7 minutes and the hotel gave us a map of all the restaurants which helped allot. Room service at the hotel was delivered within 30 minutes for 3 hot entrees and the person who delivered was also very nice asking how our stay was and if he could do anything. I do realize hotels say this but this hotel went above and beyond for a "cheaper" brand of hotels.

What set this hotel apart was the next morning when I came to check out the person at the front desk asked how the concert was. Little things like that show you are not just a dollar amount to them but that they value your business. I would definitely recommend staying here and if I am in the area again, I will stay here again!

Best Iced Tea at a Doubletree Hotel

from JustMeMPH
I was there for a training class, and everyone from the bellman to the catering team did a outstanding job. After trying their flavored Iced tea, I was hooked and ordered it each day. It's freshly made, not the instant kind, the BEST! I had Passion, and Pomegranate.

They are still tying to tie up some loose ends with their onsite Steak House, but the hotel looks amazing. Very welcoming and those darn cookies, lord help me!

Love This Hotel!

from jillmck
I had to visit Princeton for business and after a long drive through traffic to get to Princeton from New York, I was welcomed by the Front Desk Staff with a warm chocolate chip cookes. So delicious! The bellman helped me with my bags and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the room was very clean and nicely decorated. I ordered room service for dinner that night and the presentation and the food were excellent. The fitness center had the elliptical machines that I love with televisions. Overall, I was comfortable and the staff made me feel at home. I recommend to everyone thinking about this property.
