Top Local Tips for Paramus

Chakra on Route 4 East in Paramus is great If you are into high end dining, may I humbly recommend Chakra. The interior is very dark, so it is very female friendly since they seem to like nice, dark restaurants for their ambience, especially when there is a backlit zen waterfall inside. The food is amazing. Foie Gras is done to perfection with cranberry bread toast tips. The Shashimi platter was almost as good as any high end restaurant in Manhattan. The mixed green salad had a wonderfully sharp Parmesian accompanying it. The only mistep was the roast duck which could have used a little more crunch to the skin although the meat itself done to perfection. The dulce du lece cake and raspberry crepes were delightful. The gin, ginger, & sake cocktail was addictive. The wait staff was very unobtrusive yet attentive & helpful. The pricing is very high end NY- $190 for two with tip & 4 alcoholic drinks. I would not call it 5 star dining, but it is definitely very solid 4 or 4.5 star dining. The other peeve was having valet parking.
