| Don't Waste your $$$ |
|
My family were looking for an affordable place to stay in NJ for a few days. We found the Howard Johnson and decided to book it. The first room they tried to give us smelled so bad we turned it down. The room we ended up getting wasn't much better. The toilet was not secured to the floor, made for a few interesting visits, the room across the hall continually was leaking water into the hallway making the carpet soaked. The window did not have a screen on it, it also did not lock (not good for a ground floor suite). Take my advice and spend the extra few $$ and stay in a place you can feel safe in. |

| Inconvenient for travelling into Manhattan |
|
Our stay at Howard Johnson was so-so. The room and facilities are typical of any motel but we were very disappointed at the transport access from the hotel to NY City. As we were on a road trip in the US, we did not want to drive directly into Manhattan but found that staying in NJ was a very bad option. Although there was a shuttle bus from the hotel to Newark airport, the airport transport was extremely expensive to travel daily in to NYC and quite slow. In addition, the additional charge for parking our car at the hotel was annoying and made our stay to be costly. This additional parking charge was not communicated to us until we had part completed our internet booking. |

| Adequate clean airport hotel |
|
Room was of a good size with normal facilities.
Considering the proximity to the airport it was quiet. Very impersonal but functional. Amenities were as advertised. Excellent pick up/drop off shuttle. |

| Not Clean and bad airport connection |
|
Room was not clean. Carpet in room seemed to be very old or at least extremely dirty.
We waited for 1h at the Airport (Newark) for the hotel connection bus. We were more than 40 people for about 15 seats. All other hotel buses came frequently. That's a service!!!
Then we took a taxi to the hotel.
The same next morning at 6 a.m.. |

| Clean, Convenient, Efficient |

The Howard Johnson Newark Airport is a clean, comfortable setting offering good service, reliability and convenience. I would use it again, and recommend it, without hesitation. |
