s a good bet

from Hotel_Sam
First, I should say that this hotel is widely available on Priceline as a 2.5 star hotel in the EWR airport zone. I got it for $42.00. We all know that it is next to impossible to get a hotel for that price so I can't be too picky when writing this review.

The hotel is relatively new. The theme of the hotel is meant to be (as the name suggests) like a country inn. There is a large staircase to greet you as well as a country type decor throughout the lobby. The pool is average size as is the whirlpool. My main complaint is not really the hotel's fault, the place was packed with a group that occupied 3 floors. There are only two elevators so it took a long time to wait for the elevator. I was not treated any differently because I had used priceline. In fact, I was given what I later found out was an oversized room on the top floor -- probably to keep me away from the group that was staying there. They were apparently very noisy -- although I didn't hear them.

You do hear the planes taking off which is not that distracting b/c they stop late at night and don't really start until after 7am (i was up anyway).

Even with my great price, a continental breakfast was included. I'm not much of a breakfast person but this was great b/c there was fruit which I took for later, milk, and OF COURSE coffee. There is coffee avaialbe all day in the lobby for free. The parking is also FREE with your room key. The rooms are large, clean and relatively plain. As are the bathrooms.

For the price I paid, I can't complain. I just had to give it a 3 rating b/c of the long waits for the elevators.

Very Average

I stayed here one night in July. I had a very early flight in the morning and wanted to be close to the airport. I read the reviews and selected this hotel because of the free shuttle to the airport. I incorrectly assumed that free shuttle to the airport meant that I would be dropped off at the terminal. I was wrong. I was the only person in the van and the driver claimed that he was not allowed to drop off passengers at the terminal. He dropped me off at the air shuttle. The air shuttle was packed at 4:00a.m. and was not moving due to a broken door. I sat in the air train for 20 minutes before it was fixed. I requested a wake up call at 3:45a.m. which never came. I luckily did not trust the front desk and brought my own clock. I really don't care about free breakfasts. I only wanted a reliable ride to the airport terminal and a clean room. With all of the airport hotel choices, I will pick a different hotel next time. I forgot to mention that when you leave your room, the airconditioning automatically shuts off. In the middle of July in a heatwave I walked into my room to what felt like a steam bath. On a positive note, the front desk was very friendly.

Great free breakfast

Got a really cheap rate on hotwire and on top of that, the hotel offers a free continental breakfast which included hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and make-your-own waffles in addition to the usual bagels and cereal. Great value for money.

great value

Stopped for 1 night enroute to Florida, booked after reading comments on TripAdvisor, we booked the one bedroomed suite for about $10 more, this was well worth it as the suite was a really good size. No complaints about anything, room was clean, checking in and out was problem free, staff helpfull, shuttle bus frequent and on time, breakfast selection was very good, swimming pool looked very nice (although we didnt use it). Planning another trip via Newark Airport again and will definatley use this hotel.

Great place for the money

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have stayed here a number of times, as our daughter goes to college in Hoboken, and hotel rates are very high there. The place is often available through HotWire for $55-70. The rooms are nice, and the free internet is good. They have an extensive breakfast, which is all carbs (waffles, bagels, donuts), but very good. The only drawback is that for some reason, the breakfast room is always extremely hot. Very good place for the $$.

Impressive

I stayed at the Country Inn & Suites on the 29th of January and it was a nice place. Rooms are really sound proof , which means you sleep sound.
The rooms are immaculate and the breakfast was very good.

If you're into shopping the jersey Garden mall right across the road makes it even better.

Good choice for a few nights

from kellbert
I stayed here for two nights in Feb 2005 and really enjoyed this hotel. I had a suite and there was plenty of room for two adults and a 12 year old. Breakfast was very good and the pool was beautiful. This hotel is near the Mall and Ikea but I did not see much else. The NJ Turnpike is very close and the hotel is at the end of one of the Newark Airport runway.
The staff could have been more responsive but they performed to our satisfaction. There is wireless Internet in the lobby and wired in the rooms. There was however, no way to print documents. This should be fixed if business travellers are to be happy.

Nice hotel but customer service needs improvement

from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a really nice hotel overall, but they definitely need to work on satisfying the guests. I booked this hotel for a large group three months before the stay. Our room requests for several double and non-smoking rooms were confirmed but not met when we arrived. Some of our guests had to stay in smoking rooms and some in single/king rooms with up to four people. The king rooms had one king bed and a pullout sofa, but I booked two beds and a pullout. The smoking rooms were the worst because the whole floor was smoking. You could smell the smoke as soon as the elevator doors opened. For non smokers, this was horrible. I was very upset about the rooms we were given and complained to management, only to be told that another group arrived a little before us and were given some our rooms. The manager on duty was very nice and really had no alternatives since the hotel was full. I had no problems with her, but was very upset with the manager who altered the rooming list to accommadate another group which booked their rooms after me. In a conversation a few days before the trip, the manager asked if I wanted to switch some rooms and I said no. I was assured that I would get what I had requested. NOT!!! Would've been perfect if we weren't tricked!

Best Breakfast Ever!

from KNFN4kKp
A FANTASTIC hotel with a scrumptious complimentary buffet breakfast that consisted of make-your-own waffles, cereal, fruit, toast, pastries, and more. It was the best free breakfast I've ever had at a hotel! The hotel is practically next door to the Jersey Gardens Shopping Mall...a great place to shop for clothes and shoes tax-free. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and swimming pool after a long day at the mall. We also used the airport shuttle and we had no complaints. (Many airline personnel also stayed at the hotel and used the shuttle bus so it must always be reliable.) We stayed here one night after spending a few days visiting Manhattan. We took the bus from Manhattan to Jersey Gardens Mall to save the hefty taxi fare to get to this hotel. Overall, this hotel provided excellent customer service and a pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again!!

Great Hotel

from TC
We found this hotel to be great - we were only there one night though so can only comment on this short stay. We arrived around midnight and found the staff very pleasant and willing to help. We had booked a King Bed suite and this was great! Room was clean, very spacious and extremely comfortable...the bed was huge! Extremely quiet as well. The breakfast was fine. We spent the whole next day at Jersey Gardens which is literally across the road from the hotel. We will definitely be staying here again!
