We invited in that opportunity a family couple visiting us from Chile and they were very impressed with the Hotel and Casino, they booked in a room close to ours, and they mentioned that they will keep this unforgettable experience for ever.

Historical Traveller Reviews of Harrah's Lake Tahoe Hotel

s A+

We spent a long weekend at Harrah's Lake Tahoe 9/30 - 10/3 and were very pleased. The rooms were excellent with a great layout, plenty of room to move, two spacious bathrooms, comfortable beds, and were kept up very well by housekeeping.

The staff we encountered both in the hotel and the casino were all top notch and very helpful (especially Robert the maintenance guy who busted the lock off our suitcase after the TSA agent who inspected it and relocked in from our departing location apparently reset the combination!).

The extra offerings at the hotel were extensive and we enjoyed some shopping at the gift stores, dinner at the the American River Cafe, and lunch at the Bistro. Starbucks right next to the front desk was a big plus as there are no coffee makers in the room (the one complaint I have).

We'd definitely stay there again if in Tahoe and recommend it highly to everyone.

Just returned from a four night stay at Harrahs, Oct 4-7 and found it excellent. Great room with fantastic view of the lake and mountains, with bay window and two baths! The food was excellent and the hotel staff was the friendliest and most helpful we have ever experienced. highly recommended!

Wonderful rooms.. but...

I just returned from staying the night at Harrah's. Wow.. What a great hotel. The staff was super friendly, and the room was beautiful. For a $99 room I thought we really got a bargain, two bathrooms, two double beds, large sitting room, large closet area, quiet room. Well I thought it was a great deal until I went to bed.. UGH! I have not had a worst night sleep in forever. By 3:00 am I had tossed and turned so much everything in my body was aching! I finally got up and pulled one of the sitting area chairs up to the chaise lounge and stretched out on it, I slept a little bit on that, but PLEASE get some new beds!

We went up to the steakhouse for what we were told would be a top rated dinner, well guess again. Pricey, but I do not mind if the food is good. The escargot was drenched in a very bad pesto sauce, which just killed the dish. The Artichoke and Crab Gratin had so much heat from an overuse of tobacco or something like it that you couldn't taste anything else in the dish. One friend had the lamb and she said was okay, another had the veal Oscar that was SOOOO salty she could not even finish it. I had the New York which was cooked superbly, but the institutional out of the package salty brown glaze was disgusting! Get creative and put some caramelized onions, blue cheese, demi sauce (that is made form scratch!)..Something.. But you killed that poor steak. Dessert was wonderful, cheesecake, crème brulee that was light and airy, and molten chocolate cake.

Service, Imre and I think Jason, were good, but at times a little slow. I do not mind a leisurely dinner (we were there for 2 hours), but we waited a good 10 minutes after our dessert had been cleared before Imre came over to see if we were ready for the check, and then we waited some more. Jason (the busser) was very efficient, so efficient he took my friend dessert wine glass literally right out of her hand as she was taking the last sip!!

Room service in the morning was VERY quick and efficient. We ordered coffee, hot chocolate and croissants. I was hoping they would have fresh baked croissants, but the weren't, and they had been heated up in the microwave making them somewhat chewy.

All in all a great stay, just a few bumps in the road.

Excellent in All Regards

From check-in to check-out, from the first floor casino to the upper floor restaurant, this is an excellent hotel. The deli was a good place for lunch and the lower level restaurant starts serving breakfast very early. Overall the hotel is clean and comfortable, bright and pleasant, I cannot think of enough good things to say.

How about some not so good things? The hotel is not on Lake Tahoe, however. It is across the road with a hotel between Harrahs and the lake. It has a small pool area (which is well-staffed providing towels and lounge chairs). Our view from our room was of a parking area with the lake in the distance if you looked hard.

All in all, we stayed for 5 nights, had a great time sightseeing, shopping and playing casino games. A very nice vacation made even nicer by a great hotel.

Loved it!!

We stayed two nights at Harrahs Tahoe, Aug 10-12th.

I would have to say that i definetley would recomend this hotel to anyone. The room was a good size. Having the 2 bathrooms was a nice feature as well. The one thing that was really great was that you and the room beside you had a set of doors that closed you off from the hallway. This really helped keep noise from the hallway out. Especially since we were close to the elevators.

All in all, I would have to highly recomend this hotel. I plan on definetley going back.

Thank You Harrahs, you did it again!

From the minute I arrived to the minute I left I did not have one disappointment. "Rico" the curbside valet had a welcome smile and greeting when we arrived and was just as accommodating as we left.
The first person you meet and the last you see have a very important impact of your impression on where you stay. We checked in early but the room wasn't ready, which is expected and we knew that, so we went up to the pool and relaxed and swam and sunned. Bell captain held our luggage. When I called to see if our room was done, we picked up our keys and bellman had our luggage two minutes behind us. service in harrahs is really first class all the time. I never got a attitude from anyone ...... all smiles, all the time. The accommodations were wonderful. Lake view was breathtaking and we only had a deluxe room. The room had two bathrooms with tv's in each bathroom and a large sitting area. There is lots of room in this deluxe accommodation. There really isn't any complaints I could make at all except that I felt bigger and newer pillows on the beds should have been provided for the price you pay. And beware of the mini bar in the cabinet. Very pricy. If you pick up a item and even look at it and put it back, this rings up a charge in the computer system. (There is a sensor that registers that a item was taken.) I was lucky enough to scan my bill before I left to correct this potential costly situation because my girls picked up alot of items to look at. They reversed the charges with no attitude or problem.
Harrahs has it all, everything is within the building.
Starbucks, Dreyers Ice Cream. My daughters loved the arcade at night. Lots of kids hang out there to play and talk. The Deli on the main casino floor in the back was exceptional. Great prices for HUGH sandwiches. Always a smile on the attendents there also. The health fitness room was good to work it all off at. The view at the top floor is a must. And if your pocket permits, the Lobster at Fridays Station (top floor) is the best you've ever had. Can't say enough about our visit at Harrahs in Tahoe....... except that I will return.

Paradise!!!!

Harrahs Stateline is WONDERFUL! Harrahs is always so good to us. My husband and I stay there every time we go to Lake Tahoe which is twice a year. When we were there, we stayed for a few days in a spa suite and also spent the other week in The Summit Suite. (this penthouse had to have been at least over 1,200 sq.ft.!) The Summit Suite had THREE bathrooms, a fireplace, and a Baby Grand piano! It also had a wet bar, a surround sound stereo system, diningroom, TWO livingrooms,FOUR televisions, (the bathrooms had tvs too!) a jetted bathtub, two separate showers-one was also a steam shower, and heated towel warmers! What paradise! We will soon be making the trip out there!
The service we received was out of this world. I give my 100% thanks to Harrahs and also Harveys. (we have stayed there also in a beautiful suite that while taking a bath one could look out the window from the tub onto Lake Tahoe!) I cannot say enough how wonderful Harrahs is and I highly recommend it!!!!!

Great Room; 2 Bathrooms -- beautiful!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
This was a great room with sitting area, king bed, two bathrooms and all the amenities you could look for! The room was spotless, service was impeccable and comps were great! Food a little pricey in hotel, but normal. Lake Tahoe was absolutely breathtaking. Went out on the Harrah Yacht for a great 1-1/2 hr boat trip to Emerald Bay. Also went to Improv for comedy show. Didn't know what to expect, but it was great fun! Slots could have been looser, but I guess we always hope for that! Great hotel property!

Beautiful Hotel

We visited Harrah's July 22-25, 2004. The standard room is huge, with a sitting area and 2 full bathrooms. There is also a large closet, ironing board & iron, mini-bar w/snacks (at extra cost). TV & phone in each bathroom. Our room was clean & comfortable. You do have to request bed linens to be changed during your stay. I understand water conservation, but at the prices paid for this hotel, I expect fresh linens every day. I noticed there is no turn-down or bedtime mint, either. These are the only things that caused me not to rate the hotel as excellent and they are minor.

Harrah's has an indoor heated pool, which looked nice, but we didn't have time to use.

There is plenty of entertainment within the cluster of casino hotels. We saw Jimmy Hopper at Harrah's and went to the Improv at Harvey's. Boz Skaggs was in town that weekend as well. Jimmy Hopper is a singer with an awesome band. You may well recognize the violin player, David if you are a fan of the group Kansas. He makes that instrument sing! At the Improv, we saw Anthony Griffith and Bobby Lee. Host Howie was a hoot and we thoroughly enjoyed Anthony Griffith. Bobby Lee is quite raunchy, so be forewarned if you ever go to see him.

The timeshare people have a booth at Harrah's and they will try to catch you & sign you up for an info meeting. If you are willing, you can score tickets to the shows, buffet, paddlewheel boat.

Harrah's is walking distance to the Heavenly Gondola. Ride up, stop at the 1st stop for great views of Lake Tahoe. Then get back on for the next stop, where there are trails for every athletic ability. Don't forget your sunscreen & camera!

Harrah's is walking distance to the lake, but I think I would drive next time. It is a bit of a hike. The beach is free when you show your Harrah's room card. The water was about 65 degrees, so we found a shady spot (there are practically none), drank a coke and relaxed. The lake is huge and the view of it surrounded by mountains is just beautiful. The water is very clear compared to the lakes here in Texas.

Take the Tahoe Queen or Dixie for a sunset dinner cruise. Tahoe Queen has a live band (don't know for sure about Dixie). They go into Emerald Bay, where you can see Vikingsholm Castle and the island teahouse. If I go back to Lake Tahoe, I want to tour the castle. It looks beautiful from the bay.

Food is pricey in the hotel. The buffet was just ok, not worth the price. The sandwich cafe was good. We didn't go to any other restaurants in Harrah's. Cabo Wabo in Harvey's had excellent chips, salsa & chicken tacos, not crazy about their rice & beans. Lakeside Inn had good breakfast and IHOP offered its usual reliable fare.

Magnificant

We stayed three nights recently whilst on our honeymoon from Australia. A fantatstic location and hotel. The room was superb with twin bathrooms and the view was breathtaking. Everything was clean and fresh. No worn furniture of fittings here. The 1973 vintage was well diguised, I assume through a series of renovations over the years. The buffet was fine, and the staff at the buffet were very helpful. The cafe on the lower floor was acceptable, but for some reason the staff are made to carry in and out large trays/platters full of food, a safety and health hazard, evident by the tray that lost it's load the night we ate there! A minor blight on an otherwise great establishment.
It was certainly a highlight during our six weeks in the USA.

Beware of the "Lake Recreation Fee" they tack on. I rented my car via the internet months prior to my vacation. Upon returning my car, I noticed they tacked on almost a $40 charge for 'LAKE RECREATION FEE'. It was bad enough I paid a premium rate to pick up my car at the hotel. If they don't nail you for an airport fee, now they try the Lake Fee. Give me a Break! I rented car in Tahoe and returned in Reno. The Hertz Guy in Reno adjusted my rate so I paid what I was quoted. Thanks Dan.
