Something has changed here...
And not necessarily for the better. The "NEW" Tuscany Tower is where we stayed for recent Anniversary weekend. Our VIP host delayed entry into the "special room" reserved for us, even though other rooms were ready. Our "special room" was right by the ice machine and the 1st door from the elevator so we could hear everyone everyone that walked by. Nice flat screen TV but the remote didn't work. When I finally got the TV on I wanted to watch Keno results in my room but that channel wasn't working. The sink stopper was broken - in the closed position. VIP services was a horrible experience, it felt more like a funeral home; we wish we had checked in with everyone else. After many stays over the years we will not stay there again. Nicer people and better luck at Harrah's Downtown and the Atlantis.

Mostly gay friendly
My partner and I stayed in a spa room in early December 2005. The check in staff and room service were friendly. Check out was a bit of a hassle getting a hotel bill but it could have been an anomoly. Most of our stays there have been pleasant.

Disappointed
We stayed on Sept 19, 20, and 21, 2005. Wasn't awful but not up to expections and will not stay there again. The room they gave us was already occupied by a single, young lady who was very surprised when we came walking in on her in the room. When asked how that could possibly happen, management shrugged it off as a computer glitch and gave us a different room.
Coffee shop waitress got confused when I asked for a glass of water. Had to ask twice and the water she brought looked "used" and had no ice. When we asked for ice she removed the water and brought back a glass with just ice.
Buffet had a great selection and variety but all of the meat was too tough to chew and everything except desert was blah. Had the rest of our meals elsewhere.
Did get them for $1100 on a penny slot so don't feel too bad.

Ok once we got in
I stayed at Peppermill in 2003. At that time we booked a number of rooms and were shoved out into the annex for the first night because of supposed over booking. We were then brought back into the main hotel for the remainder of our stay. We booked a number of rooms there again in March 05 and the same thing happened. This time we spent a fair amount of time at the front desk negotiating and finally they realized it didn't make sense to move us around later the next day as we would not be back to the hotel till late in the evening so we were upgraded and stayed there for the duration. This appears to be standard procedure watching the poor front desk girls try this story on every guest when they arrive. We have a convention there again in 07 and I am not sure whether we will break away form the convention hotel to stay there as I don't want to have a fight when I bring a number of my clients to the hotel for the night. Rooms were great when we finally got in.
Love the Peppermill!! I stay here every year. the rooms are large. the food is great. The comps here are the best in town. You cant go wrong with the Peppermill.
