Top Local Tips for Reno

Don't fly Southwest We have flown both Southwest and Alaska to Reno. Alaska has a small presence in Reno while Southwest's is quite large - lots of flights coming and going. Whenever we head home the Southwest line is huge while Alaska's is tiny.

Nugget Diner is the best Go north on Virginia Street about 1 block from the Cal Neva hotel tower and you will find the Nugget Casino with its awesome diner in the back. The food and the bar are to die for. I have never had better food or ambience than at this diner... I have talked of it when I have traveled everywhere from New York, to Los Angeles... from Knoxville to Corpus Christie... no place is as special or unique as the mighty little Nugget Casino and Diner in downtown Reno... immediately across Virginia Street from Harrah's Plaza area.
