What more could I expect for the price? I slept well with hardly any noise on the 22nd floor of the tower. The room was clean and cozy.

You are not safe at Circus Circus!!!!

This was a terrible place to stay. The service was terrible, the food was terrible, the room was OK, but most of all the security was terrible. There was a group of guys on my floor allowed to scream,yell,fight,bang on random doors and make rude comments to those going and coming in the halls. Security would not stop them even though this went on for 13 hours and numberous calls to security. My kids were terrified no one slept, and we were very upset that nothing was done we will NOT go back. I won't pay to put my kids in danger.

I always go there, and the kids love it. The staff is friendly. The buffet is great, and everything is well managed. I never play the slots or poker, or anything, but from what I have heard, it's so so. Great times. Very memorable!

My last trip to Reno was to the Circus Circus. What a great location it is close to all kinda of fun. Most any kind of food you could ever want is in walking distance. The rooms are clean well maintained. I only had to ask for directions once of twice but the staff was more than happy to lend a hand. We had a great time and plan to return.

Nice hotel. Very good value. Plenty to do with the children. However, directions to rooms a bit complicated, kept getting lost. Overall, rooms well kept and staff helpful. Would use another Circus Circus hotel again.

Old, worn out, dirty

We stayed at the Circus Circus hotel over the labor day weekend. The best way I can describe the experience is to paint a few descriptive pictures:
* Carpet tears repaired with duct tape
* Frayed sheets with rips, holes and tears
* burn holes in bedspreads
* screaming children, screaming parents, roaming in packs
* Obviously intoxicated (or whatever) young adults lurching through the hallways and parking garages with no evidence of security personnel in sight
* dried vomit allowed to remain in hallways for more than 24 hours
* Cigarette butts and ashes on the floors, in the trams, etc
* Smell of Cigarettes even in non-smoking rooms

The Courtyard Buffet has the best waitress I have seen since 1978. Her name is Samanthaj Morlin. This young girl works so hard. Samanthaj should be working at a place that she can get the tips she deserves.

We decided to go here to let our kids play a little...bad mistake. Not only did the kids spend alot of money on nothing but so did we. The machines were so tight and on top of that every machine i seem to touch needed a hopper fill. I did alot of waiting. Unfriendly atmosphere...and creepy(can't stand clowns anyway). We had to sneak over to the Silver Legacy which was much nicer.

It WAS GREAT! I had a fun time at that magic show! That man is great! Not the best for kids though! I mean well their is a Adventure Domb. SO I guess. Go I mean it!

We stayed at the Circus form May 9th thru the 13th for our annual mothers day getaway...Sorry to say that this will be the last time we stay at Circus as the accomendations and service were way below par (even for a lower price casino). Do not expect any service if you get to the casino early in the morning or late at night...expect to pay high prices for drinks even if you are gambling and no cocktail waitresses are available (severe shortage on them). If you ask for a smoking room, don't bother looking for an ashtray, none to be found. Absolutely no fan in bathrooms, very steamy after a couple of people trying to take showers. Dirty rooms and lousy service does not make me want to try this casino again.

After reading various reviews regarding the Circus Circus hotel I was a bit apprehensive about my weeks stay in May 2004. I had a great time and found the hotel to be great in all aspects. The buffet was cheap and the food good quality.The rooms were cleaned every day with clean towels and shampoo's etc.[Apart from the electric shocks received when touching most things this was an excellent, cheap base to start your Las Vegas trip..

My husband and I stayed four nights at the Circus Circus on March 21st-25th, 2004. I wasn't thrilled with our stay and we won't be staying there again. One night while we were playing the slots the cocktail waitress finally came around and I asked for a coke and a water, well that was a big mistake! The cocktail waitress loudly said that she had other customers and she was busy and that I would not be allowed 2 drinks! We lost a lot of money there and I think they should be at least thankfull that we are paying their wages. Without the gamblers there wouldn't be a Reno or Vegas.My husband also got sick after eating at the buffet on our third night, so he spent some vacation time vomiting. We took a walk to different casino's one night and the one that was very friendly was the nugget, small casino but very friendly to all guests.We asked for an additional night at the Circus Circus because my brother in law was driving up from Vegas to visit. I was quoted 45.99 the next morning when I payed I was told the room rate was 55.99! They said that they change prices at certain times and I didn't get there in time for the cheaper rate! I explained that I wasn't told that and they said there wasn't anything they could do.So needless to say I won't be returning there.

Nice Accomodations in the Heart of Downtown Reno

This past weekend we had accomodations at El Dorado but we needed handicapped accomodations and they placed us at Circus Circus.
Surprisingly the room was big and much nicer than the cramped accomodations at the Eldo. We had 2 queen beds with plenty of room to spare. I've always thought of Circus Circus as a budget hotel in the right location but the past couple of times I've been there the rooms have been great and well worth the price. The casino is a little gloomy but it is nice being able to have access to the Eldo & Silver Legacy without having to leave a building. I remember the CC buffet being a little scarey but when the Silver Legacy buffet was closed we headed back to CC and really enjoyed it for the price. I think Circus Circus has taken steps in the right direction to upgrade their accomodations and services and it shows. I see they don't have the best reviews but I would recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of downtown Reno.

A Positive Experience...But Beware

We just got back from a 3 night stay at Circus Circus - Reno and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms and the overall facility. Unfortunately, the positive comments end here. We were told that the first airport shuttle would leave Circus Circus at 5 am. My wife and I brought our luggage from the Sky Tower to the main registration area to check out and wait for the shuttle. To our surprise, at 4:50am, there was already a line of about 30 people waiting for the airport shuttle. Well, 5am soon passed, 515am passed and at 520am I finally went inside to ask the front desk about the shuttle. He said that the shuttle went to the Sky Tower first, filled it up and left for the airport. The hotel had no intention of letting us know that the next shuttle would be at 530am which eventually came at 535am. To top it off, upon returning home, my credit card company called to inform me of several unauthorized charges in excess of $1000 from Circus Circus. BEWARE!!!!

Disappointed This Time Around

I recently wrote a review for Circus Circus and while I was happy about my previous stay there, I was a little dissapointed this time around. The last time I stayed at Circus Circus I had a mini suite which was nice and clean. Well, recently on 3/19 I decided to book a tower room. Wow, what a difference! The tower room was not very well kept. We had a lamp that didn't work, the water in the toilet shot out every time you flushed it and the shower handle was about to fall off. Haven't they ever heard of maintenance? Also I don't know what happened to their staff. The last time I was there in October I was greeted kindly at check in and most of the staff were pretty courteous. This time around they seemed disinterested and looked like they hated their job. At check in I had to stand there and wait even though there was no one else checking in. The lady at check in was too busy talking to someone else on the staff and when she finally paid me any attention their was no smile or anything just a "what can I do for you". She also seemed irritated when I asked her questions like "Is This a smoking room or non smoking room". Every where we went in Circus Circus the staff seemed to hate their job. No smiles or anything. I know that they have to deal with a lot of people everyday but they can at least pretend to like their job. I returned to Circus Circus because I had a positive experience last time, however I'm not sure if I will stay there next time. The Peppermill has always been good to me.

My sisters and I recently stayed at the Circus Circus Hotel and were very disappointed. We have been going there for years, but not anymore! The customer service was terrible,and the room was dirty (urine on the bathroom floor). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Top Local Tips for Reno

Getting to Virginia City Take 80 to 395 south When going from Reno to the Comstock Highway. It is much faster than sitting in 17 miles worth of traffic lights. The freeway is easily acessible with marked signs off of Virginia street past the Circus Circus Casino tower. This is by far the way to go. What takes about 7 minutes in no traffic would be nearly 45 minutes through town.

Don't rent a car. If you are going to Reno, and don't plan on going to Tahoe, there is no need to rent a car. Most of the hotels have airport shuttles to pick you up (a cab ride from the airport is a heft $20). You can easily walk to all casinos in the downtown area. If you want to go to Peppermill or Atlantis, they have shuttles too. With a little planning you can get by with zero transportation cost in Reno.

Food prices Unless gambling is your main focus, stay farther out of the main drag. Food is overpriced. You must try the "Awful Awful" burger at the Nugget. Walk thru the casino and sit on a bar stool and enjoy.
