Rooms were average nothing speecial could use more lighting. No mini fridge. Rooms on the Starwood Prefered Guest floor 16th were smaller than non SPG floor,Desk staff indifferent and no apologu when had to change rooms because of smoke detector malfunction that was reported and not fixed.For the prices they charge you should get FREE internet they charge $12 a day.
Also the Starbucks is overpriced the airport one for food was a dollar less!!

Service was ok, and atmosphere classy and stress relieving.
We have just returned from a family wedding, which was at one of the 'big' hotels and we toured through at least 8-10. Always glad to go 'home' to the Westin. Off the Strip. Quiet. We would do it again.

beds outstanding - employees excellent
Our opinion: Beds outstanding, all employees were excellent (friendly, outgoing, new their jobs well, helpful). The hotel was very clean. Only problem: Their food and service in rest. Pulled the rating down, way down. I do think they are overpriced!
We stayed at the ""new"" Westin on November 11th during their soft opening, and they should have never opened. It really is the old Maxim with a new paint job and a few other new, nicer amenities (like the nice bathrooms, but not as nice as those at the Venetian, for a comparison). The pool and spa were not ready, which we were not told prior to check-in, the entrance way from the parking lot leaked, and construction noise woke us up early. The Heavenly Bed was nice, however, but not good enough to make up for the other deficiencies. I stayed at the Westin because I am a member of Starwood, but really felt that for the dollar, I could have done a lot better at most any other hotel on the strip. (Also, if you eat at the Silver Peak Grille, the Breakfast Buffet is decent; It even offers smoked salmon for the $12 price. However, don't bother ordering the ""Prime New York Steak,"" which might have been a leftover from when the old Maxim's closed more than two years ago. Overcooked ...Read more
