Great Stay

My husband and I stayed at Westgate Flamingo Bay from 6/1-6/6/04. We had a wonderful stay. The room (1 bedroom) was beautiful! The only problem we had is that they were relocating the fitness center to a unit just below ours. Other than that, the grounds were well kept and we found the staff at registration very friendly.

I was very scared about coming to Westgate because of the reviews I read about the crappy rooms and rude employees. We found nothing of the sort. We were extremely pleased with how nice our "condo" was. My husband and I commented if we ever lived in a apartment we would want it to be like this. We encountered no rude employees. We saw no bugs, in fact they seemed to have sprayed outside almost every night. The only time traffic we could hear is when we were outside the main gates leaving to go to the strip. I heard no construction. There were kids upstairs running around, but that was when we were already awake which is not the fault of Westgate it's the kids parents not taking control. I agree with another comments I have read about Westgate being the best thing about the trip because it was one of the best things we could brag about on our trip to Vegas.

Excellent Accommodations

The Westgate Flamingo Bay was the best thing about my trip to Las Vegas. A quiet, relaxing atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the strip. Beautiful rooms with lots of space, very clean and well maintained grounds. The security gate was an added plus. Staff were friendly, helpful and focused on our needs. I,too, read the bad reviews. My experience was just the opposite. No noise, no bugs, no confusion, --just a pleasant place to stay if you want peace and relaxation. Oh, yes, the pool was awesome.

The Place to be

We had a meeting to go to in Vegas for the last weekend in April, so hubby suggested that since it was on the oither side of the country that we stay for another week. This was a last minute exchange for one of our timeshares.

We were lucky enough to get into Westgate Flamingo Bay, it is a beautiful resort, and I highly reccoment it. It is a gated community and off of the strip, so you do not have all the hullabaloo that you see on the strip. there is a shuttle that will take you to the strip, but we had rented a car because we had some friends stay with us. The resort is beautiful and the condo was very spacious. There were two bedrooms, each with it's own 25" t v, and another in the living room. Two baths, and a jacuzzi in the master bedroom with a double sink vanity. Beautifully appointed kitchen with everything you need settings for 8. The leather sofa also pulled out into a queen size bed. If you can get into this place.....It is like the kids say nowadays......... " THE BOMB "

A Fabulous Vacation

I am an owner with Westgate Resorts and was very nervous after reading the reviews on this resort.

The resort is superb. Our condo was a lower lever unit at the front, facing the road but you never heard the traffic. I can truthfully say we never heard any noise from the construction area. The resort was clean, the pool area was beautiful. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

It was nice to be further away from the strip and we soon learned the bus route to the strip when the resort shuttle was not running.

I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Relaxing away from the strip

My Husband and I had the best time! We were worried after we read the reviews regarding the noise and bugs but we couldn't be more pleased! We had a one bedroom condo in the coutyard facing the pool. The room was so nice and comfortable we didn't want to leave. We went swimming everyday and had lunch in our fantastic kitchen. At night we went to the strip and came back to our condo and relaxed! I would highly recommend the Westgate. Also I love the gated security it made me feel safe in our own place in Vegas.

The two bedroom condo was beautiful. We had a small family re-union there and it worked out great. I recommend this place to anyone and we plan to return there.

I was there during a huge trade show with several co-workers and we loved the place. Planning on bringing our familys next time. Rooms are huge and servce we had was great. No problems at all. We did not experience any noise from the road and like the security guard checking everyone who comes in the complex. We have no complaints. You can not beat the deal!

We were told that breakfast, housekeeping, and 24-hour shuttles to the Strip would be included (among other falsehoods), to get us to stay at the Westgate and sit through their time-share speech. Not very happy with that. Rooms were nice and more than adequate. Outdoor hot tub was out-of-service, and pool closes at 11pm. We were on a lower-level room, and the kids above us were jumping up and down at 6am! There were no draperies on our windows and it got quite bright, quite early in the morning. It's right on a busy street, and heavy traffic can be heard at all times of the day. If you decide to stay, request a balcony room (upper level) on the inner court (by the pool). And Rent a Car!

It started at check in. We had to wait over an hour for a room that we had reserved AND PAID FOR 2 months earlier. The staff was most unhelpful. Then, the condo we were given was filfthy. No cleaning had been done. Dirty dishes in the sink, unmade beds, and the electricity didn't work. They sent us to another condo....but they couldn't find the key. We waited on the steps, with all of our luggage, for another hour and a half, when they finally found a key. Construction noise was continuous. Then, since it was so hot, we headed for the pool. It was closed. No one in the office knew why or for how long, only that "something broke down". I searched and finally found the maintenance man. He told me that nothing was broken, the pool was undergoing "scheduled maintenance" for two days. The office never advised us of this. We left early the next day and stayed in a hotel. I finally got my money back after referring the problem to my credit card company for help. The place may look nice, but the employees are inept, and couldn't care less about your problems.

Top Local Tips for Las Vegas

Things to do Don't Miss: Atomic test museum - very informative, interesting, fun! Red Rocks State park for hiking or just a pleasant drive. Day trip to Valley of Fire- brind plenty of water and lunch- there is no food available in the park, but the hiking and sights from the road are stunning- lots of pictographs and petroglyphs.

ANything you want to know I've been to Las Vegas several times in the past 5 years. I have both stayed at hotels, like luxor, super 8, westgate, and with friends. I pretty much know alot about the casinos, restaurants, and things off the beaten path. Let me know if you have any questions. If I don't know, I can ask my best friend who lives there.
